Gene and Nancy,

I put things in a great spot.....but rather than think this is a perfect spot, surely I'll remember where this is.....I think, " good spot, but I know I won't remember this is where I put this thing..."

And I am right, I don't remember....Cleaning a closet with lots of little hiding places....I have found Christmas presents that I stuck away and forgot all about....too bad for that person, it was a great gift!!

Hope you find the collar....Sorry I can't help you look for it.

Like Tanner, we used a soft collar when Cali got nipped at the dog park and had to allow the wound to heal without licking it. It lasted about a week before she chewed it up Evil or Very Mad But, she could eat and drink without any problem and be in the crate comfortably. Made her kind of snore though when she lay on her side. She wasn't the happiest of campers but I think she would have been more miserable with the cone. I got it at Petco. They have different sizes.

I can't but giggle when i see these poor doodles in collars/cones
and of course the pic of Leslie was the cutest by far.

Not much help here as our doodles didn't need the cone for spaying/neutering.

Here I am...slow, but here! Very Happy

Nancy, she is so adorable! I know you will miss her...we get so attached to these babies. But often it is best for them and we have to greive while they do very well!

I have never had a dog lick or scratch at the spay or neuter site! I have never put collars on them.

But I do like the T-shirt idea and I would not spray Bitter Apple because it could sting. Bitter Yuck (stupid name, I know) is made for wounds and can be applied directly. I believe that it is water based.

I hate those cones. Can you imagine??? It would be so uncomfortable!

I think I'd take the collar off unless she does lick at it or scratch. Then you have to deal with it, but until then, you may not even need one! (And if you do, I'd opt to try the T-shirt.)

shaia is having her spay surgery tomorrow (weds)!! my last dog chewed her stitches and hated the E collar. there are donut collars that have same effect, take up less room. also, inquire about a bitter gel that speeds healing and prevents chewing - can't remember info but i'm going to ask vet about it tomorrow.

i have a bad habit of not reading threads thoroughly before posting!!! i'm not sure if bitter yuck is what our vet mentioned but it sounds right - i thought he said this gel speeds up healing? dunno.
