i want to join and offer to my families,,im not sure how that would be able to that work out ,or if it would have to be associated with a organization, if so we would have to form one, think the first thing would be to talk to the company and see what they can come up with

yeah just let me know what you find out...it may be that you can only get a group rate for new puppies.

I will check out VPI too...because Dexter may put us in the poor house if we have much more of this...he had his jaw issue at 4 months old and then the tennis ball - both times the bills were quite high!

I would be very interested in a group rate insurance. I don't buy insurance because with 10 dogs, by the time I pay the premium I could pay for many vet calls...although it is a gamble, I elect not to insure. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose!

JUST CALLED METROPOLITAN INS. CO.
THE GIRL I SPOKE WITH IS VERY EXCITED ABOUT MY PROPOSAL TO SIGN UP MANY BREEDERS WITH THEM AT AN AFFORDABLE RATE.
SHE IS GOING TO SPEAK WITH HER CEO & GET BACK TO ME THIS AFTERNOON.
THEY HAVE A 26.95 /MOS POLICY THAT LOOKS REALLY GOOD. TRYING TO GET THEM TO MAKE IT MORE AFFORDABLE FOR COVERAGE ON EACH PUPPY PER LITTER PER ONE YEAR FOR CUSTOMERS.
TOLD HER WE WONT CONSIDER ANYTHING LESS THAN 50% OFF THAT PRICE TO MAKE IT AFFORDABLE FOR EACH OF US TO DO. eg: 26.95 X 10mos=260.00(1 year) X 10 PUPS =2,600.00 TOO MUCH $$$$ BUT 1300.00 PER LITTER (10 pups) IS more affordable as a breeder IN MY EYES.

im with Jac the cost would be too high for me even at 26.00
I have too many dogs

would like to offer to clients and get some kind of compensation for doing so, such as more discount or so many referrals sign up get a dog discounted deeper, or paid like a insurance sales person is would be last resort,
i know i wont buy entire litter coverage that is up to the new pup parents to make that choice, i cant waste money here for somthing that wont ever possibly be used,,this is like nuvet i give my clients the option and send samples home with them,

$13 to $16 IMO is reasonable
I pay $18 a mo for Max but that includes a cancer rider too otherwise it would be $16 a mo

I USE VPI but i am not sure if they give group rates but do know they have companies offering it to employees .

Martha, I think you are on to something!
I would certainly consider insuring a litter if the price is reasonable...I also agree with Nancy, there is probably not going to be any type of covered "event" for the puppies in their first year...SO it would benefit the insurance company to offer incentives, as Nancy mentioned, to breeders.

I think that if they were willing to do that, not just doodle breeders would buy but every breeder...great idea! I'm going to try to find the insurance thread you mentioned...I want to add an idea.

(And, yes, we do live in a perfect place for the dogs and for our own peace...we do love it!)

Nancy, I was in a hurry to send that PM to Martha...but I want to welcome you back! I am so glad that you are recovering...I have missed you and I know that your recouperation has been challenging for you.
I hope that the operation was a complete success and that you are fully recovered very soon!

I'm doing great...but soooooo busy...I am finding it hard to get to the posts on the forum...I miss that. There are times that I try to catch up, but I am so far behind that I will never get to them. Shocked

Still, like you, I miss being here and have to check in often!

In the contract I signed,there is a spay /neuter clause.My question about this particular clause is,

How do you know whether or not the person who bought the doodle ACTUALLY spayed or neutered the dog?

I asked my breeder about this ,because when Max was neutered,I emailed the breeder and let them know about it.I wondered if A official form had to be sent to them proof of neutering.I was surprised to know that ,no proof was needed,so this them led me to wonder,why sign a contract with a clause like this ,if theyre is no way of verifying the honesty of the purchaser.

The purchaser could just go out there breeding theyre doodles with no consequence or anything like that.

Kinda defeated the purpose of having the clause..

Not all people will be honest.

Maybe if a breeder has a clause,something like this,for they're own protection against breeding,in the clause have a seperate form,an official proof of spay/neuter,to be sent back to the breeder,once the surgery has been performed.May help reduce the risk of un trained people using theyre pets for breeding purposes .
Just something that made me say HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM....

ALL breeders i know have that clause and require proof of spay nueture by a certain date,, if a breeder doesnt they YES, red flag

i know its done because if i havent recieved proof by a certain date on contract ,then they owe a additional fee, full price for a breeding dog,
i have the right to get the dog back and legal action is taken
