When I was a kid we had a dalmatian who puked a lot. My Mom went straight to the vet school in Guelph-that dogs stomach was in her esophagus. Everyone suggested she be put down but my Mom persevered and set the alarm for months to feed it pablum (teensy amounts) every hour or two. Her name was Sally Forth & she lived to be 11 years old. My Mom saved animals a lot. That dalmatian came from the bottom of a barrel with 6-7 littermates on top of her at the local 'sales barn' (rural community). Good memories. Yesterday was my Mom's birthday but we lost her 20 years ago.
I hope your doggy just has gastritis and the meds will take care of it!

MEGAN thank you so much for sharing such a loving heartwarming story and your mom sounds like she was an angel.
