is that a normal fee at a shelter?
|
When we were looking, the fee was at least that high from shelters here in NJ...I think it varies on location though because we saw others in other states with a fee of $100 or less.
I think it's quite high - you can purchase from a breeder for not much more. I honestly think such high fees may deter someone from rescuing from a shelter. _________________ Leslie M |

yup, Leslie....that's what makes me wonder.
See, I also know of a shelter (not in OH) that has been questioned by some....that maybe they are breeding and posing or doubling as a shelter.
If this shelter with the current cuties were on the east coast I could understand a relatively higher fee. The doodles, real estate, and most everything on the coasts sell for higher too! But Ohio?
just wondering...I have no opinion.

When I rescued Miko from WV, the adoption fee was $300, but that covered spaying. I saw these have a contract for spay/neuter.....maybe they refund? I agree, it is high for Ohio, especially that it's not in a big town at all. Could be jumping on the "designer" bandwagon, which would be a shame... _________________ gene , jonah , miko and rumor

When we were looking for a 2nd doodle...we saw labradoodle puppies on some sites where the adoption fee was double that of their other puppies.
by the way - he is really a cutie...I love the liver nose _________________ Leslie M |

like anyone we know, Leslie?
I think I'm looking for a male that is cream/gold with a liver nose, for my girl Truffle's future breeding. _________________ ~Maureen

Gene,
are you trolling petfinder,
late at night,
when the kids are all asleep at your feet,
and the idea of adding just one more,
actually sounds like great idea!!??
Bwahahahahaaaa!!
just kiddin'.
Those are some cuties though--hope they find forever homes soon! _________________ REASON #50, "Why I love my doodle so": My doodle teaches ME new things EVERY day! |
