She is keeping Count after all? Did I miss this? That would be great!

Good luck in your doodle search Smile I think a doodle is a perfect dog for an active person. We take ours hiking, walking, to the beach, etc Smile I'm going to start running with Dexter in the new year Smile

Went to see those puppies and here is an update...the breeder seemed really great and she knew what she was talking about. I asked many questions that I have read on this site and they seemed to all be answered. The one that I really liked was a male chocolate F1B labradoodle. He is 11 weeks old and already crate trained.

She said that he will be roughly 50 lbs...can anyone explain or show me pics of a LD or GD that is around 50 lbs?

Thanks!

hey Annmarie, do you think Beau will ever be as fluffy as Peanut? Or has his coat been different from the start?

elk, to answer your question, there's lots of pictures on this forum, and the whole weight thing is elusive because of the difference in the musculature of a Lab or Golden, compared to a Poodle. My 24" (fairly tall) Standard Poodle weighs just 45lbs!

But I'd agree with Annmarie, I have a 50lb (somewhat stocky) St. Poodle who's 22" and a male Labradoodle who's 21" and also 50lbs. So that's the height I'd probably estimate, in my mind. I do have an f1 who's at least 50lbs who is more like 18" tall....she's more stocky, and more Labby in her build, obviously.

OPINION: I think estimating an F1 by weight is really a wacky and usually-wrong way to go, UNLESS the parents have had several litters and the breeder knows the typical range at adulthood. But that's just me. I'd rather predict height based on the heights of the parents, since they are more similar in the two breeds. In the case of F1b puppies I still tend to avoid heights, except when the parents are similar in weight.

The dad of my puppy is 19" & 35lbs. The mom is 17.5" & 32lbs. They are both Austalian/multigen, so I suppose they will breed true to type. Does anyone have pictures of dogs this size? There are LOTS of pictures on my breeders website, but since the dogs aren't standing next to a person, it difficult to get a real perspective.

Anyone with pictures of dogs on the small side??

LORI you can do a search cause there is a dog BAILEY that is on the mini-to small std size of what you're looking to see.

maureen: good question on BEAU, his coat is silky soft and very wavy going every which way and thickening up now but his coat is longer than hers when she was his age.
He doesn't shed and neither does peanut Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

BUT i dont' know if he'll be like Peanut?Time will tell, as he'll be similar but different looking...if that makes sense hahahahaa Curious if he'll be shaggy looking or not. as peanut is if i let her coat fully grow in and then she has alot of apricot/reddish spots like the color of her ears

Thanks Annie for thinking of me. I really do appreciate it.

For any interested, I just want to get the pups into long term homes so I know they're well taken care of.

Even with the current cost of fuel that should help to make a little longer drive more tolerable to pick one up.

Tink, your puppies are so handsome! I hope things work out for you and them soon so you have less chaos. Best wishes for the medical issues you're dealing with. Hugs and woofs from Meg and Cali.
