Aw, Mary, I am so sorry.
Prayers coming through for you from me too...and lots of hugs for your sorrow, may it be eased. And may the doctors be guided to help your dear daddy.

Prayers for your Daddy and you and family. I bet part of the high blood pressure was the fear involved. It should come down. Make sure Norma has a good understanding of the blood pressure diet: salt needs to limited greatly and most convenience foods have LOTS of sodium. Fresh fruits and vegetables are best. Stay strong and there is alot you can do from far away. Doctors even will call you if you request it and your Daddy gives permission for them to talk to you. The nurses also will talk to you when you call. If his nurse is busy you can always speak to the 'charge nurse' or even the head nurse for updates or problems. Make sure he gets his meals after not being able to eat for certain tests. When you are hungry, you get irritable. The nurses stock food on the floor, so even if it's not dinnertime, he can get something. Lots of doodle hugs to you and your Daddy!

Thank you so much !

Talked to Daddy - no change. He has not had any chest pain since yesterday am but his heartbeat is still irregular and BP is up and down - he's on meds for both

Doc said no decision as to if they will do an angiogram or angioplasty until they can get his heart back in rythym, prob 3 or 4 days before he can make a determination

Will let you know if anything changes

Thanks for the prayers

Thank you for the continued prayers, they are helping.

Today the Doctor said, Daddy did Not have a heart attack , he was having major palpatations which caused the chest pain and BP to go up. Meds are helping some, his BP is lowering and the Doc feels that heart will be back in normal rythym in a few days with medication, at this point he does not forsee having to do angiogram or any type of surgery.

When I talked to Daddy tonight, he sounded so much better than last night and said he was feeling much better, so we will see what the next few days bring. Norma also was doing better tonight when I spoke with her, she got some rest and was more relieved after talking to the doctor this afternoon.

We all appreciate your keeping Daddy in your prayers that the medications continue to work and he is able to go home in a few days.
M

PS thanks for thje kisses Nicky ! Annabelle has been sticking very close and giving slobbers Wink

What a relief, Mary! And Linda gave you some great advice for him! My husband has to take lots of meds for cardiac issues and had nine stents put in, at two different times about seven months apart. It's not a big deal anymore and he's fine now. He has a glass of wine a day, keeps active, and eats lots of fruit. So much can be done these days for almost any condition that it's usually just a question of figuring out which treatment to put in place. Here's hoping that your dad continues his recovery and is back to normal ASAP!
