| Maureen, you should see her brother, TOTAL LAB! It was so funny to see them next to each other. We used the same trainer and accidentally found out they were siblings before class one day. They came from a litter of rescued labradoodle puppies. |

Linda,
Was Bella clippered at the groomers?
If so, do you know what #blade they used?

She was just groomed on Monday. Here is a photo from that visit. I don't know what blade he used, but I brought the directions from the website with me and I asked for a 1 inch cut. I thought he did a fabulous job. She was very matted under her legs and she also had some chunks of hair removed where I had cut the mats out . I am thrilled she looks so good, and now I can keep up with it!

Oh! she really looks great!!!
The one inch cut is all I need....
Are you at all worried about winter and shorter coat?
You get much colder than we do, so Coco a little shorter wouldn't hurt,
I wouldn't think.
It is amazing she is an F1!!! What a doll! I just love labradoodles
of all sorts!!

Thanks Jane and Mary! Her coat grows very fast AND the groomer told me she has gotten FAT! since her last visit! (She has ) So maybe that extra padding of fat will keep her warm. (You can see it in the photo on her belly when she sits )
Bella says, "Well, I never! Hrmpf, he should just mind his own business!" |

Linda, there's just so much that is unpredictable about genetics! But, with how poodley Bella is, and if she has a "Labby" brother, I'd almost wonder if the litter was actually an f2 litter, that is, f1 x f1 breeding. We adopted a girl carrying a litter like that....it's a longer story....and that would be a fair description of her litter: one like Bella, one that could pass for a full-blooded Lab, and then the other 6 or so were in the middle territory.
I think it's fascinating how the Lab's genes fight for straight waxy coats and the poodle's genes hang on to curls and fleece as tight as they can, and the struggle is part of the adventure in any given litter! _________________ ~Maureen

| Thats so interesting, Maureen. We were told the Mom was a lab and the Dad was a Miniature poodle. She weighs about 54 pounds, so I guess she is somewhat smaller than most. |
