Thank you for asking, Mary!
I last talked to her husband on Monday and she was doing a bit better every day. I was asking almost daily when I could come and see her. He originally thought last Sunday, and it would be postponed each day. I really believe that Janet is not emotionally ready to see anyone yet, so I have backed off until Jerry contacts me. What I understood after surgery was months-to-years for Janet, was updated by Jerry. According to her oncologist, barring any life extentions through any alternative medicines or treatments that Jerry may find, she has 2 months to 6 months to live. And nobody knows how much of that will be "quality" time. That must be simply devestating for Janet to deal with--and Jerry, of course. The cancer is widespread: lymph nodes, liver, overies, bladder and her stomach is completely involved.
This is why I have been so frantically trying to deliver Gary's wish for Janet of a personal item from Jeff Gordon. I will update you all when I finally succeed, but I'm well on my way--all because of your kindness and the kindness of other friends from the present and the past. I don't know how to thank you. I have broken through to Jeff's inner circle and I expect to get at least two items personalized for Janet by Jeff and whatever else he may choose to send. She sure did pick a warm, wonderful, compassionate individual to idolize--I just I'll have to start watching and appreciating NASCAR! _________________ Diane (and Dakota)

OMG Diane, I am so sorry to hear Janet's prognosis. I pray that what time she has on this earth is quality time.
I am so glad that you are progressing on being able to get her wish granted. I have heard that Jeff is very compassionate and caring and does a lot for those who are very ill and/or in need.
Keeping Janet and Jerry, you and all her friends and family in my prayers.
It is hard knowing that a friend or family member has limited time, we went through that with my FIL and it was hard, but we did everything we could to make his last few months as "normal" as possible. There were times he wanted to see friends and times not, so being there when she is ready to see you and being there for Jerry is the best you can do.
