Kristin....make some cookies now, get a warm blanket, do you have a generator? if you do have it ready to go....any LED flashlights? then cozy on up with your 2 doodles .
hope your safe sound and warm

we're supposed to only get some wind and rain tomorrow

and I to this day remember the storms we used to get on the Atlantic on the Outer Banks NC...most were electrical and we had to shut off all lights and appliances then sit and wait it out.

Ugh - its over... that was the LONGEST 13 hours... I lost power at 6pm last night and it finally came back on about 10 minutes ago. I was so looking forward to my extra hour of sleep last night Sad The house got down to 46 degrees - I wasn't too cold though, since I had 2 serasoft blankets (if you don't know what they are, go to linen's n things and find out!) and 2 doodles. We slept on the couch since the second floor of my house was colder - Sandy slept right on top of me, and Molly slept across my feet. It made for crummy sleep, but I was nice and warm.

I haven't surveyed the damage in the front yard, but I've got quite a few big tree limbs down in the back. I'll be spending most of the day cleaning up.

Yawn - Can I take a nap now?!

Yes, take a nap! Sorry for the uncomfortable 13 hours.....glad to hear that all else is well. I'm sure Sandy and Molly will love to be on stick patrol for you! Wink

Glad you're none too worse for wear....and extra hour sleep - what's that? Confused

Take your time and don't hurt yourself hauling branches, OK?

My neighbors weren't so lucky with their trees... They lost two big beautiful trees (one split down the middle) and several fence panels.

I only lost a bunch of BIG tree branches, and the gate to my fence is busted. Easy fix - I zip tied it shut for now and will go to the hardware store to get the supplies to fix it tomorrow.

Good news is that its a beautiful (albiet cold) day for cleanup!
