Everyone ready for the storms? Anyone getting hit yet? We are supposed to get hurricane force winds out here on the Cape. I hate storms like this... our beaches can't take any more erosion
I have to work for a few hours this morning, but I'm prepared with flashlights and candles for when I get home... the power gets knocked out VERY easily here My dad is in town (bye week) and he and my mom have Annie... Now what to do about the dogs? I'm figuring I'll put them both in the guest room so Molly isn't alone in case it gets really bad. I don't want my other "kids" to get scared without me!

Wishin you the best Kristen....lay low, and I hope you have no damage!!!! How close are you to the water??? I hate high winds, and they're predicted here in NH...we're about an hour from the coast, Maine & NH..
and our house is surrounded by 60ft plus white pine.. Last year one came crashing down off the back hill within 4 ft of the house...and a few yrs ago, a huge branch came crashing thru the bedroom window on MY side of the bed!! Thank heavens we weren't here that weekend....guess it's my fault for not letting the builders take the trees down...I just love them...especially on a warm, breezy summer afternoon when you can smell the pine and listen to the rustling of the needles! It's only a matter of time before we get hit I suppose, but in the meantime, I enjoy them!
Would love to take a ride this afternoon over to the coast to watch the waves...but I don't think that's going to happen, so I'll be content to sit here and watch 'The Perfect Storm'....for the umpteenth time....forcasters this am said that there would be 60-70 seas offshore....AWESOME!!!! _________________ Kathie,Raleigh & Molly!

I'll be thinking of you Kathie and Kristin along with my brother who also lives near the coast in NH. Cali sends woofs and licks to Sandy, Raleigh and both Mollies! I hope the storm isn't too bad. _________________ Meg and Cali |

I just went on weather.com and the rain is so close to the coast and the storm is moving in that counterclockwise pattern - please stay out to sea. I just sent the boys outside to run...we are about 5 miles inland so I think we'll have some rain soon. Our winds are only forcasted to be 30-40 mph so that's not too bad...good luck up north! _________________ Leslie M |

And Leslie, good luck to you too! Bruce's brother is in Virginia Beach, and his winds are around 37-40mph, he said it wasn't too bad...so hopefully it will be gone soon,,it's supposed to be a fast moving storm... _________________ Kathie,Raleigh & Molly!

All we had from that storm here in NC was winds. It was really windy here yesterday but today all is calm. II hope the storm stays out to sea and is gone quickly!!! _________________ Heather, Morgan, Maya, and Sadie

It's 1pm and just very very windy here, gusts in the 30s I'd guess. The wind is supposed to pick up later, we're under a severe weather/high wind advisory. No rain yet. A very Fall-ish day all around...orange and red leaves juxtaposed against a totally gray sky, leaves falling like snow sometimes....very pretty!! _________________ -Lynn

High winds (40-50mph) and rain so far... I have 2 very wet doodles!!
We aren't supposed to hit the peak of the storm until 4-7pm... so its only going to get worse! I am only about 2 miles inland from the southside beaches, and 5 miles from the bay side beaches in the north. I'm surrounded! _________________ Kristin & dd Annie with our crazy doodle crew - Sandy, Iris, and Maggie

Oooohhh Kristin, hang on tight! I always say to my Mom, "What if the bay meets the ocean???!!!!!" They are coastal South Jersey (3 blocks from the ocean and 1 block from the bay) and they also had the high winds and lots of flooding. |
