just remember: an intact male will wander to a bitch in heat. My coonhound I got as a rescue past a year old was not fixed and he sure like trying to fix other female dogs Wink

and now i feel bad ....everyone here is just trying to be informative and helpful. we also are trying to help you see all angles or rather both sides of the coin. maybe i came on too strong? if i did, i apologize.

No worries.

I know that I didn't recount all the details and facts surrounding how I got Oski and who I got him from. It didn't occur to me that it would come off odd to anyone since I know that it is all above board. I appreciate all the good intentions.

Everything was very informative, because I was totally unaware of how things usually operate with the ethics of breeding an the medical aspects of testing and such.

I'm away from my external hard drive and camera today, otherwise I would share some photos. I will share some before the end of the week along with a bunch of questions as I've been searching old posts and not quite finding the info I'm looking for.

Don't ever feel bad here some just worry when they here a dog is out there intact that it shouldn't be bred or used as a stud, since most breeders do either early spayneuter or sell under contract. I'm sure they just assumed you did not have rights to stud him out. My opinion is he is your dog and if you take the time to test him and learn what your doing and do it right then go for it. We all started out as newbies not one breeder here or anywhere else started their programs with experience as a breeder in their own program we learn some as we go. If you ever want help and decide to go ahead with studding him you can email me or call me. Just PM me and I will send you my email and phone number.

Ahhh... I just noticed this thread and couldn't get through all the pages.

I just wanted to add that we chose an Australian Labradoodle because we felt there was more certainly as to the type of coat and temperment that we were looking for. For example, we didn't want to take a chance on getting a shedder.

DH and I have promised never to tell anyone else how much we paid for a dog. Sometimes we feel like idiots but we're very happy with our doodle.

Nancy, I certainly defer to your expertise!

When we were searching for our dog, I communicated with a number of breeders within a reasonable driving distance. We just didn't find an F1B puppy or breeder that met our requirements.

It's funny, though, that you can start out with a list re: coat, size, etc. but once you look into those puppy eyes, its love at first sight!

I agree with Deb the multi's don't seem to shed at all, and most F1B's will shed some. Not as much as F1's but they do shed, none of my Australian multi's shed at all and all are well over a year old so we would have seen it by now. Not knocking F1's or F1B's in any way I use to raise F1's and will have a litter of F1B's in December so there are still families out there that want them. I look at it this way some people only want an F1, some only want an F1B, but there are families that want the mulit's and it is everyones right to pick the generation that best fits their family. And pick a breeder you and your family feels comfortable with.

F1b's Shed? Mine dont!!!
I have heard of Aust Mulit Gens Shedding ,fyi numerous!!
and i do attitubute that to them infusing terriers and spaniels in the mix
if not infused,,, Im sure they dont shed, they have infused poodle back into them enough that they are 15/16ths in most cases,,,i ask you is that a Doodle or a Poodle??

Congrads on your new litter, We are having a litter of Aussiedoodles (minis) i think today,,she is acting like it anyway,,nothing yet though Wink
