We've had days and days of rain. I was able to sneak out for a little while today while the sun did actually come out just long enough to tease us.
My real beef is doodle poo... I need to get it picked up but when you have 12 young doodles pooing in 6" long grass it's like picking up mashed potatoes to begin with... then add the rain and it's nearly impossible to even grab hold of! It's too wet to cut the grass, so it's getting a bit nasty out there!

So other than restricting them to indoors what's the trick to my doodle dilema? I tried a pooperscooper with teeth... I tried a flat shovel, I'm just having NO luck!

thats a lot of poo to pick up I sympathize with you - we keep our yard picked up and it's hard when it rains ! have you tried a smaller shovel, maybe a shovel used for removing ash from fireplace?

That's a good idea, or a small spade.

I really feel for you...I have trouble with our 2 when it rains. They practically drive me crazy because they can't go outside and play.

My husband is going away for work for the next 6 days...luckily I checked the forcast and they're only calling for 1 day of rain here. I told him if it was more than that he may come home to find 2 doodles in Camp Bow Wow Smile

Forcast for Salt Lake is for snow on Sat and Sun. It snowed last night..will melt by noon...very wet and muddy. My husband is also going out of town..funny how they plan that. Tanner will definitely be going to daycare for part of Saturday Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

When we have poop to clean up and it is wet and mushy after a storm..or when Tanner had diarrhea, my husband would use a high pressure nozzle on the hose and wash it into the ground. Probably won't work for 12 puppies pooping though....see, these are the reasons most of us can't handle breeding...it's a lot of work and some of it very messy Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

I had enough poop to last me a lifetime when Max had diarrhea for 7 weeks earlier this year hahhahaaaaaaaaaaa during last winter when the ground was mushy and wet.

OMG I'd take the plastic bags from food shoppping, double them up, wear rubber gloves and a plastic bag over that hand
and just do my duty: poop picker upper. It was messy but it got done and I didn't get any on me and the bags tied neatly, not breaking either since they were double bagged and i'd throw the gloves out too.

don't know if it helps as it is a dirty job for sure.
but i looked at it this way, someone else watched the doodles and i got some time alone. hahhhahaaa always take the positive out of the negative Wink

ps will admit Tootsie Rolls were off my list of sweets for a while Shocked

I use a kitty litter shovel and it works like a charm in wet long grass!

Rain? What's that? We're dry as a bone here (SC) and 17 inches behind on rain for the year.
