A scary thing happened on Sunday. Our house was hit by lightning. The storm wasn't right on top of us, so I didn't think of shutting down the computer. Flash -Bang!!!! Lightning struck. I'm pretty sure it hit the lightning rod on the top of our house. The TV turned funny colors and I could no longer get online. Now that's a terrible thing for me. I could do with out the TV, but not my computer!! That's like my life line!
Anyway, after I unplugged the modem and plugged it back in, it worked. Whew! I thought I'd do the same with the TV and it worked there, too. Boy, that was close!
And the funny thing here is the NASCAR race went on like there wasn't a storm at all. They finally stopped the race, but Dave was using his Blackberry to email everyone he knew to get off the bleachers. No one was hurt, but I thought it was a bit scary to be out there in the metal bleachers with a storm so close. |

Wow, that is scary. Lightening scares me and it is amazing how many people just stay on golf courses and continuing rock climbing in our area when it a lightening storm hits.
Glad to hear that you had a lightening rod on your house and that it did it's job. Not suprised about the NASCAR though _________________ AnnieG & Tanner

Never even flinched. Sarah however ran for the closet (dog sitting again). Poor girl is terrified of storms. Took the rest of the evening for her to recover! She sure was glad to go home that night. She tried to go for the tub, but it's a new one and I didn't want it scratched up, so we shut the doors to the bathroom. She sat on top of my shoes in the closet. |

Glad everything is ok - poor Sarah, we had a lab that was like that, petrified of storms, if we were home she'd sit on couch or bed with us and shiver, if not she'd hide in closet
when we lived in Florida, our house got struck twice in one nite and our fence and well got hit same nite - very scary _________________

Whew! Glad you're all okay! We've had some close calls, but no direct hits, which is okay by me! Very scary! _________________ Meg and Cali
