Police Need a Hand to Find Stolen Limbs
August 22, 2007 - 10:11pm
CLEAR LAKE, Iowa (AP) - Police are looking for a hand _ well, actually an arm and a leg _ in solving the theft of prosthetic limbs from a local business. The prosthetic arm and leg were taken about a month ago from Tom Leisure Prosthetics in Clear Lake, police said.
While the limbs haven't been found, the arm has been replaced. Dorothy Wolfe, of Emmetsburg, the customer who ordered the leg, is still waiting.
"Why would someone do this?" she asked. "I have no idea what's in their mind."
Nonetheless, Wolfe said she was able to see the humor in what police believe is a bad prank.
"I thought it was funny," she said. "It cost an arm and a leg."

We have turkeys in our yard from time to time. I have named a couple "Thanksgiving" and "Christmas". Of course their last names are "Dinner"!!!!
And no they didn't become dinner. |

Oh my ... I can "bearly" contain my guffaws!
Here I was getting all envious of you Easterners with your interesting wildlife, when I realized that we have it right here in Ohio!
Of course, it's the 'Wild Turkey' drinkin', dictionary quotin', stalkin' bear ... still we proudly claim him as our own!
Move over Gentle Ben .... Here comes Gentle Gene! _________________ Mary and Ebbe,
