Well, it is true that there are some really good arguments on both sides...so it becomes a very individual choice. I made my decisions based on these well-founded arguments, made by very experienced professionals...but circumstances, as it happens in life, has changed my perspective. Yet, I don't judge those who choose ESN and I don't claim to have the right answers for anyone except me.
Deb, I don't believe that ALAA requires ESN. Not unless they have changed. I am not aware of any change in that policy. I do know that it is very common (although I have no idea if it is mandated from some higher source than the local breeder) to require ESN with the Australian Multigen lines.
Since that is what you are breeding, I suspect that the mandatory ESN might come from the contracts of your specific breeders and/or lines. I don't know though...just guessing. _________________ jacque.bayley.lexie.chase.rosie.nitos.amelia.dupree.madison.sherwood.gerry www.backporchlabradoodles-jacque.blogspot.com www.backporchlabradoodles.com |

Here is what the ALAA says about Early spay/neuter:
I shall not sell or dispose of a puppy under the age of 8 weeks. I will wean, desex OR place under a spay/neuter contract non-breeding puppy/s, and vaccinate puppy/s between the age of 6-8 weeks, thus allowing the necessary 10 to 14 days for the vaccinations to take effect. _________________ Linda & Gracielou

Your welcome I don't want people thinking we don't care because we do. We love this breed and the good breeders out there anywhere should not be shut down because Politicians think they can! _________________ Linda & Gracielou

You've got my vote on that statement, Linda! It is so frustrating to see how the political process works, with amendments being made with the idea that they may placate one side, with absolute disregard for how it affects the intended beneficiary of the law. Ignorance is not always bliss!
I attended a meeting which voted on an issue dear to my heart recently, and it was discouraging to see it rubber stamped by council members who Clearly had not read the bill and had no idea what the ramifications were. One council member "got it," but her pointed questions were very handily shunted aside by double talk from the State's "star witness." The woman was on the right track, but never got a straight answer to her questions.
I smell the same thing at work here. _________________ Deb, Deva, Smiley, Lavender and Cherie
