| We went to see Midnight today. He is as sweet in person as his picture. We brought Chester to meet him and they seemed to get along pretty well. We filled out an application so now we'll wait and see what the shelter says. |

I'm so excited for you. You're going to have such fun.
We went and saw Midnight yesterday. He is a sweetie. He and Chester got along quite well. The kids just loved him. We filled out the adoption application so, now we're waiting to find out. The shelter said they already had 5 families look at Midnight. We should hear in a couple days. I don't want to get my hopes up too high. These things workout how they are supposed to right? |

Chesterpal,
Yes, things do work out always! Midnite is very lucky that she has so many families willing to take her home! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Let me know of any romps coming up, I'd love to take Belle to one!
Keep us posted!

| He's only 4 1/2 months. His owners gave him up because he was getting too big and they wanted a miniature. I can't imagine they had him long enough to get attached to him. |

I thought the guy looked young. Poor baby! He's not on petfinder anymore, so that's a good sign. At least no more people will call on him. _________________ Shannon - Phantom, Star, Fozzie & Roni

The shelter is closed on Mondays so I doubt we will hear anything today. I hope they let us know if they pick someone else. I know they will also do the Snip and Chip before we can take him home (if we get selected), also does anyone have opinons about changing his name (if we get selected). Is it too late or too confusing for a pup?
I think we do have a good shot at getting him. Our ace in the hole is that my husband works out of our house so he's home all day...(at least I think that's a selling point). |

Changing a name at that age is very easy!! Just change it, and treat him when he comes. I have changed names at a much older age. Sounds like you do have a good chance with your husband working out of the home. I am sure that is a good selling point for any rescue. I would call the shelter tomorrow to see if they made a decision on him. I think they took him off petfinder because they were getting too many calls. The doodles in Illinois never last in the shelter. Don't you just love the neutering already being done? _________________ Shannon - Phantom, Star, Fozzie & Roni

That they send him home neutered is great. I'm happy to not have to go through the waiting on that.
I'm trying to be positive so I've decided if another home else gets selected at least he'll be somewhere other than the shelter and someone else will be lucky to have a doodle in their home.
Its still hard for me to believe the previous owners couldn't find someone else to take him. |

You know, some people just don't even bother to try and find a home for any of their pets. They would rather have someone else do their work for them, and to get rid of them because they are too big, is just crazy!!! _________________ Shannon - Phantom, Star, Fozzie & Roni

| I was amazed at that reasoning too. I guess they didn't do their research and see there is no guarantee on these guys sizes. He's a pretty energetic guy. He was barking in Chester's face and also trying to mount him. Kind of gutsy considering Chester is about 70 lbs bigger. He has a lot of personality. |

That is just too funny! Poor Chester probably had no idea what to make of the whole thing. I am sure they would make a great team. I know my boys love eachother! I am not surprised at any of the reasoning anymore. There is a LD in a shelter in CA and he is there because the owners could not keep him in his yard, and now this time they did not want to pay to get him out of the shelter. _________________ Shannon - Phantom, Star, Fozzie & Roni
