I don't go to the movies because I suffer from a curse! The curse of ether sitting behind the person that's already seen the movie and keeps saying "Here comes the good part!".....or in front the person who enjoys kicking my seat!
So I am a netflix guy. Best movie I've seen recently was The Great Debaters. If you haven't seen it.......do it!! _________________ gene , jonah , miko and rumor

Seeing as I have two young daughters, we saw The American Girl movie this week. It was wonderful. Both girls loved it. A little "Norman Rockwell does the Depression" for reality, but it was a great story.
We also saw "Wanted" last week. This would be the EXACT opposite of the American Girl movie. LOL !! If you liked the Matrix, you will like this one.
Finally, we saw, "Martian Child" which was okay but went on too long.
We will be seeing WALL-E tomorrow since one set of grandparents will be in town. I have heard it is wonderful.
As for Netflix, I love it. But since hubby and I both stay home, we get the JOY of seeing afternoon movies in nearly deserted theaters!!! (And pay about two dollars less each!!) |

What genre are you interested in? Drama? Family? Indie? Comedy? ???
Limited to in theaters or on DVD?
That would help narrow down a few suggestions _________________ -Lynn

"Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" ( I thought this was great!)
"Atonement"
"Juno"
I HATE going to the movie theatre, but we do PPV's. _________________ Linda & Bogart

I have seen PS I love You as well, and it's a great chick flick movie. I recommend The Bucket List, don't think the teens will appreciate it as much as the mature ones but it's worth seeing. We'll also be seeing Wall E in the drive in on Sunday with the Incredible Hulk as a double feature so we'll see how they are.
I don't have a specific genre, it's just so difficult to find good movies anymore these days so if a movie has a good review and as long as it's not horror and a ridiculous action movie then I will go see it.

Into the Wild
No Country For Old Men
Alpha Dog
Donnie Darko
....for starters. These movies are a bit on the intense side but it'll be time well spent. _________________ -Lynn

V for Vendetta was a very different in a 1984-ish way. My husband and I both liked it a lot. _________________ Heather, Marduk, and Tiamat |

Ditto. Easily the best movie that I've seen in the last 5 years.
Boondock Saints is a classic. Other than those 2 nothing I've seen lately has been really good.
I'm with a couple of the above, I haven't gone to see a movie in the theatre for 5+ years. It's $8-something per person here. For $20 I can rent 4 movies and still have money for pizza. |

I'll need a ton of Kleenex for Marley and Me, I'm sure - I went through quite a few when I read the book!
I'm one of those PPV or rental people myself - I'd much rather curl up on my bed with Tyke and watch a movie that put up with the theater! (Besides, when I run out of Kleenex, I can use those big ears of Tyke's in an emergency! )
Last two we saw that we liked (Tyke and I) were The Bucket List and The Water Horse. I expected The Water Horse to be more of a kid's movie, but it was a really great story, and yes, I did borrow Tyke's ear! _________________ Kim and Tyke

We finally saw Wall E at the drive in, and the Incredible Hulk was the double feature. Wall E is a very good movie for little ones, my daughter can imitate him say "Wall E" which was very cute. The Incredible Hulk was a so, so-my son liked it though.
I saw the Water Horse as well and it was pretty good.
Too bad I won't be able to see The Dark night as my daughter and I will be going oversea and stay in the village without a movie theater
Can't wait to see Marley and Me as well.
Have a great week everyone!
