Hi,

We are getting a labradoodle puppy in early April. I need to find a veterinarian and was looking for some advice on what I should be looking for in a vet and the clinic.

Thank you for any insight!

Hi Debra and congratulations Smile When looking for a vet I would ask if they have any Labradoodles as patients. Go visit the clinic and make sure it is clean and everyone is friendly. If they have a problem with the breed Labradoodle, you will be able to hear it in their voice and see it in their face, if this is the case, keep searching. You want a veterinarian that is willing to take the extra minutes to talk with you about any concerns you have, you don't want to feel like you are being rushed out the door. I'm sure others will have more to add, it's getting late and my brain is fading. Be sure to post pictures, April will be here before you know it Exclamation Exclamation

Hi Debra, welcome and congratulations!
I agree with Diane, sometimes people are very prejudicial against Labradoodles...and you don't want/need that!
A vet should be willing to meet with you and answer your questions (without charging you) before you commit to use the vet's services.
Like most medical relationships in your life, you will rely on this person for some of the most important and frightening periods...so you want someone you can trust and feel comfortable with. You want someone who will be gentle with your dog and understanding of your fears.
You also want friendly office staff because you will be dealing with them a lot!
Good luck...and enjoy your new puppy!
