Interesting....I have always heard two females could be trouble.
I have two females, both of which will be breeders. I intend to keep a female puppy from each of their litters...so I will have 4 females...none of whom will be spayed for awhile. I don't expect problems, but I am sure they could happen. Coco and Abby rarely get miffed with each other....only over a bone once, or twice! Coco was a year old when we got Abby at 8 weeks old. Coco mothered her so beautifully, we knew then we wanted to breed her.....She will be a great mother. NOt so sure about Abby....she is so flighty....ADD, I think. Hope she doesn't forget
about her pups, distracted by the noise the jeans make in the dryer!!

We got Walt when Lilly was 8 months, then we add Roy when we kept him from Lilly and Walt's litter Lil was almost 2 and Walt Just a little over a year and now we are keeping Rose from their second litter. We are the alpha and they know it so there is no squabbles. We still have two pups for this litter so it is a bit crazy with six and trying to train 3 but it is doable most of the time. _________________ Brenda

If you didn't already know, I have decided to keep my foster doodle Jack and I HIGHLY recommend fostering a second doodle before committing to a double doodle home. I know that I got very lucky with a great fit in Jack, but I had no idea what to expect having two dogs until I got him. I had only the committment to give him a good home until he found his forever home, and it just turned out that the forever home was mine!
Also.... since you live in Indiana like me, we have a lot of doodles that need to be rescued or re homed. I would definitely get in contact with IDOG and let them know that you are interested in another doodle. Jack and Bodzin are both about a year old. Both are about at the same level in maturity and both are completely housebroken. IT IS GREAT! |
