Nice Pics! Owls are one of my favorite birds of prey. It's amazing that they fly so quietly you cannot hear their wings flapping! _________________ mtd/renee/abby/dr katz

AnnieG: That was QUITE a blessing. Owls are my bird of prey top choice too, hands-down. What beautiful photos as well, THANK YOU so much! Paul and I discussed your little local environmental food cycle at great length last night, and, we have to share---what an AWESOME story....although the mice are a nuisance, you are invariably feeding the birds of prey with them, right?, LOL! Ahh, I love how things work out like that sometimes.
So, are they gone for good?
owls, or, the mice too?

The owls were not in the trees over our patio yesterday during the daytime but I saw evidence of them on the front walk. They usually feed at dusk and fly around at night. I can still hear them. So, yes they are still roosting in a huge pine tree in our neighbors yard (and probably 50 other birds as well). _________________ AnnieG & Tanner

Baby owl was out in street tonight. DH went out to rescue him...he got very upset clicking his beak. He jumped onto the trunk of a tree and up he went again.
The Audubon Society are coming to take a look see tomorrow. The want to record them and then watch to see if they come back next year. _________________ AnnieG & Tanner

| We have Great Horned Owls out here. They sit in the trees and look like cats with the "ears". |

I found it!!! Here is a pic of the Barn owl babies we fed (from day one!)
I wanted you guys to see their beaks....when you look at them(adults), it looks like they have a short beak, but the feathers actually start part way down the beak!

OMG those are so ugly they are cute.
By Audubon count, we have 5 babies up in our trees plus mom and pop. And we have lots of cars stopping to watch them. _________________ AnnieG & Tanner
