I am about 6 hours in with being a foster to an IDOG pup. He is chocolate with amazing blonde and silver highlights and about 50 pounds. When I got him today, the first thing I did is brush him and about half of his body disappeared. ... poor guy hadn't been brushed in ages. He has human hair I swear though. Very pretty, but most of it will have to come off because I have found some mats. I think he is an f1, but looks to be a minimal shedder and I haven't had any allergy problems with him at all (minor miracle).
The lady who delivered him from the animal control place said that he was in the euthanasia room when she walked in and said "there is a rescue for doodles!" Thank goodness.... he is a really good boy so far, but he needs to go to a home with older kids or no kids at all because he is nippy (playful).
He also is getting along great with my Bodzin and our cat.
I will be sure to give you all pictures after he gets groomed this week. He will be available through the IDOG.biz site.
Spread the word.

I took Jack to the groomers this morning... anxiously awaiting the result of his trim. The groomer said "he has all the best qualities of a labradoodle!" <<< Not sure what that means, but I think she liked his coat
So far he is VERY well-behaved. He has told me when he needs to potty, but I missed one #2 cue and he went on my floor in the living room. He was very ashamed. I also let him sleep in our room last night. My Bodzin slept on my side of the bed on the rug and Jack slept on my husband's side. No problems at all... he even slept through the alarm. He is also very vocal, but not with a bark. He uses yawns and snorts to express himself and it is prettty funny. AND.... my allergies did kick in, but I am thinking that is because he hasn't been groomed in ages and has God-only-knows-what in his coat.
Pictures later!
Thanks for the support. |

Here he is at the groomers... these are the photos she took after she took 3 inches of hair and a ton of undercoat from his puppy coat off!
He was "the best labradoodle that (she) has ever groomed" and she wanted to keep him but she already had enough dogs.

| He is one year old and I weighed him at the vets... he is 52lbs... but that was before the grooming. He is probably 50 even. |
