He is beautiful! Right now, he looks all lab, but it will be fun to see how his adult coat grows!! He does look a lot like Alicia's Sammy baby pic! Welcome! _________________ Kim and Tyke

Yeah he definately looks like a lab now, but his coat seems to be changing a little, so we're interested to see what happens.
Your doodle is gorgeous too, he looks like you just want to give him a big hug! |

Yeah, he has the wavy strip down his back and it seems to be getting longer and wavier. He is now in a heavy shedding time. I cant keep up after all the fur. His coat seems to be getting a little longer on his back and tail/back end area.
rhessdorf, How old is Dakota now? Does he have a wavy strip too? |

Jaxy is handsome!
So he's got the wavy back strip going on as well... Very cute!
Is his tail straight? We aren't sure where Sammy's tail came from, as you can see from the puppy picture it was straight but now its curly like a chow chow's! |

Dakota does have a ridge back.. but not quite curly, just wavy.. His tail also has a little curl in it.. THats about it for the poodle.. All else is Lab.. :-)But he does tricks pretty easily.. sit, down, paw, wave, come, etc.. I guess thats the poodle in him..
Dakota is 5 1/2 months old.. |

Max's coat which looked so much like a lab as a puppy has grown out really scruffy , thicker and longer now as he's 22mos old.
but this past winter i played with a picture to get it to look more like a charcoal type of sketch or whatever.
to me it really showed both the wavy ridge down his back and the lab in him this time
sooo imo i see so many changes that occur in a f1 LD's coat in the 1st 2 yrs as now max's legs have tiny little sruffy curls forming _________________ Annmarie, Max,& Peanut

Taryn -
We are adopting a 16 month old labradoodle at the end of May. He looks very much like Jax: same color with straight hair on face and legs, wavy down the back and on the tail. I was so glad to see the picture of your dog, as he is the only one I have seen on this forum that looks like my soon-to-be new family member. So many labradoodles are F1 or F1B and very curly (more likely to be hypoalergenic)
My dog is an F2, meaning that both parents were part lab/part poodle, but he definitely has the body shape of the poodle but with much straighter hair, like a lab.
After we have the dog and I get a chance to take pictures I will post some. Can't wait to see more pictures of Jax.

Sara,
I felt the same way when I came to the forum...in fact this thread was my first posting.
My dog definitely looks more lab-like, but his fur is changing a little.
After going through the different posts I saw a few other photos where the dogs look like Jaxy. I am interested to see how he fills out and develops.
He is such an amazing dog! I have had dogs my whole life, and he is my favorite already at 10 mos.
I am so excited for you! They are such fun and wonderful dogs! I think you are going to love him sooo much! _________________ Taryn & Jaxy |
