For multiple dog houses - do you allow your dogs to play (wrestle, chase, rough house) inside? I never think about it here...ours do it more on weeknights but it's never overly excessive so we let them play as much as they want. I was reading on another forum that people absolutely do not let their dogs to do this inside...
I'm wondering if we are weird to let our doodles play like this inside _________________ Leslie M |

| As soon as they start to get roudy, its "doodles outside" and they are out the back door. its hard to knock something off a table from out there. |

the only 2 that play together is Toby and Lucky..and Toby has learned
to respect Lucky s size..thus, no broken furniture..
it ll usually start somewhere in the house then eventually ends up on
our bed..where i join in..eventually the wife gets fed up and we have
to stop |

here we let ours wrestle each other and with toys inside
HOWEVER if they way too rowdy a quick "Knock it off" gets them to calm down
our doodles rarely knock anything over BUT if they're wrestling under the table ON top of my feet or legs with my chair moving several inches at a time
i then put them on the porch outside hahahaa _________________ Annmarie, Max,& Peanut

If the yard is overly flooded (like now), they do tend to get a little rowdy inside. When it starts getting to the out of control stage, usually announced be Miko barking, a loud ENOUGH takes in down a notch. If not, it's outside for a "swim"...... _________________ gene , jonah , miko and rumor

GENE...i'd think a swim for your doodles is fine as the mud should roll right off their coats now _________________ Annmarie, Max,& Peanut

Abbey runs around the house a little, but we keep her pretty calm while in the house. We have friend who like to bring their dog when they visit. I don't let the dogs play in the house. Abbey is small (30lbs) and our friends dog is a very large Doberman. Just too big to play in the house. _________________ Barbara & Abbey

Our pups do some pretty rowdy wrestling around the house. I fear brain damage when they get under our coffee table because their heads are constantly banging against the table. I usually end up getting a little fed up with the noise and send them outside where they do a few laps around the yard.

We allow the playing inside, unless it turns into a bullying situation. Usually, that is Copper hounding Halo, and then he gets removed from the situation. I don't think I have ever put them outside to play because then I would have the neighbors complaining. They play very vocally! _________________ Vicky (Jett and Copper) |

I have been wondering the same thing! We have been letting them wrestle inside... but when they move to the furniture, I make them get off... but I didn't know if I was being mean? or to easy? _________________ Jenny, Sam, Lucas, & Della |

I think as long as they get to play and
even rough house around some is great!
...inside or outside.. is up to you.
You aren't mean if you don't allow it inside......
You're not mean if you just don't allow it....
AS ALPHA, YOU MAKE THE RULES, YES?
Exercise... is the key, if they get plenty
I.E. GOOD LONG BRISK WALKS, FRISBEE, FETCH, ETC.
and use up all that energy they have....
their play together could be kept on a lower key (MAYBE!!)
BUT !! You simply cannot deny a doodle the 500!!!
( AT LEAST TWICE A DAY THEY NEED TO DO THE DOODLE 500!! )

We do lot's of exercise... but even when I know they are tired... they still squirm around together... it's so darn cute, I can't stand it... but then this will often turn into wrestle mania! And your right! I am the Alpha, if I thinks it's ok, it must be! _________________ Jenny, Sam, Lucas, & Della |
