while most are complaining about gas prices, i'm complaining about the smell coming from shaia. her silent smoke bombs are deadly. she's eaten the same food since 10 weeks. same treats, etc. it's true, i have started giving her small treats of vegetables or meat but it doesn't seem to correlate with her noxious gas - i.e. some days i'll give her a little something and no smell; other time she'll go days with nothing new and it'll be bad. we don't have a yard so i see everything that goes into her mouth. i guess some gas is normal, right? i remember my ridgeback farting some. i guess it doesn't seem excessive but.... do your dogs fart with some regularity? i've wondered about changing up her food but she seems to do well on it and her coat looks great.
edit: forgot to add that this is a recent development - just started in the past couple weeks. _________________ ************************************

| Ours fart a couple times per week, and they do it right next to us,usually while stretching, smile and walk away. its room clearing terrible. no human has ever farted as smelly as our doods. at least its not very frequent. |

This is one of the most popular topics in this forum! Seems most dogs have gas when adjusting to a new food or increased amount of food or treats and supplements that just don't agree with them.
Ozzie was pretty toxic for a short while, but now, he rarely farts and certainly not "room clearing" SBD's. We currently feed him Kirkland dog food and no longer give him rawhide or bully sticks. _________________ Chas P., Carol and Ozzie |

LOLing. i guess i should have done a search, but perhaps i was taken by the heat of the moment (i wrote the message in the wake of a smoke bomb). at any rate, what was really baffling is that i haven't begun to do anything differently. that's why it's odd. i guess i can live with it though. _________________ ************************************

The favorite saying around my house is
"Is wasn't me" and then we all look at Denver...........
Even the cats clear out of the room.............
They put their little noses in the air and then get the heck out.........

Yes, Callie can clear a room, no problem. Like Shaia, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. I notice that they seem to be worse in the evenings when we are cuddled in the den watching TV, but I think that may be because we are sitting still and notice it more.
