Not necessary with a RAW diet. As KT posted I check Abby's teeth for tartar and have not found any. The gnawing,tugging and pulling on the tendons connecting the bones acts as floss and keeps her mouth sweet smelling and clean. No doggy breath at all!

Puddles gets bones from the butcher and his teeth are white and shining. Plus it's a great way to keep him occuppied when we are trying to eat dinner
