personally, that many dogs and they got around the laws about auctioning dogs off (like office furniture).
OH the responses they give to email are not what you're going to like Wink

I emailed them when you first posted the link and questioned the ethics of auctioning off dogs to the highest bidder and that there were numerous forums and organizations who were Very much against this practice. Questioned why one would put precious dogs at risk and her answer was "all my dogs are placed in loving homes" she did not address the auction nor the fact that there were Labradoodle associations that were very much against this practice.

To me that shows she doesn't care. So her saying they go to loving homes. She doesn't know, it is whoever has the money and the most will get them. Not if they will treat them right and care for them like they should be.

This Tegan auction is very odd. I ran into a neighbor this morning at the park. Carolyn had two young miniature Tegan Labradoodles, one blond and one chocolate. They are darling. Beautiful and had excellent temperaments. Abbey and the two Tegan pups had a ball playing. Carolyn mentioned that Tegan is auctioning off their dogs and closing the Florida site. Her dogs came from Tegan Florida. I'll have to ask her more about it.

I hate to be acusatory, but I agree with the posts and think that this is classic actions for a puppy mill.
I believe that the origination of Doodles came about in a wonderful way and the breeding standards were high...but somewhere along the way, over time, the "business" fell into the hands of people who either became callous, uncaring and greedy. These dogs were used as pawns in an ugly divorce battle. Who suffered? The dogs.
Words are cheap...actions are much more indicative of someone's morals...and in this case, if they did care, those dogs would not have been auctioned off...if the dogs needed good homes, making gifts of them would have been much more understandable and caring.
It has been said, although I don't know this for a fact, that many of these dogs have NOT been tested and that some that have been tested were given false records, and that dogs that did not pass testing were not removed from breeding stock. I think that if the Tegan Park owners wanted to clear this matter once and for all, they should DNA test, prove parentage and pedigree and match testing with the dogs' DNA. That is an easy thing to do.
Bottom line, for me, is that these dogs deserve much better. I hope that their new homes are, indeed, loving...but since they are being sold to the highest bidder, as breeding stock, I imagine that they will not be given much love or attention. It is shameful. Classic puppy mill actions, in my book.
