I had to post this...........last year when Max was about 7mos old
he had a sock that my son and Dave could NOT get from him and many chases ensued which gave Max the fun , excitement and exercise he needed
(of course I watched and laughed!)
here was the end result of a good sock chase: Max fell asleep on it

Ari does have a "thing" for socks! I've noticed that if he's not getting enough attention he'll run to the hamper and pull out a dirty sock and prance around in front of me with it. When I try to get it away from him - it becomes a game of "catch me if you can!!!". Quite funny - but he never chews them up - just plays with them! _________________ "If dogs could talk it would take a lot of the fun out of owning one."

that is the perfect description of our little angel Dexter. Last week he was upset that Kirby was on the bed with me - to get attention he decided to start eating out of one of our potted plants (which he has never done). _________________ Leslie M |

Marley is over 2 years old and still loves socks. And stuffed animals and dirty diapers and anything off the kitchen counter. So we have learned to keep things out of reach or closed up. Oski loves socks too. When we just had Marley, socks were never damaged, but with Oski joining us, they will engage in tug-o-war. Our house is always littered in socks though, because hubby and my children always, ALWAYS ( ) take their socks off and leave them laying around the house just inviting doodles to take them. _________________ Erika, Marley & Oski...My house will forever be littered with socks! |

Both my little angels have
In the Past!!!
eaten the dirt out of a big
potted plant on the floor
...and I HAD an African Violet
that was huge and 21 years old ...
there is one tiny piece of it left in the pot

To my horror, one of the first toys DH made Ben was a sock ball. Two and a half years later all the other stealing (except for counter surfing) has ended but the sock fetish remains strong. DH sacrifices a couple socks a week (the ones with holes in the heels) or Ben gets them out of the laundry, and they tug with them, make balls of them, or Ben just sleeps with them under his head. Ben himself no longer destroys them just for fun. When I do laundry, I retrieve them from all over the house. Knock on wood, but we no longer have to put other things out of his reach at all and, miracle of miracles, Ben leaves my socks completely alone!!

Miko has a new trick. She found that I left a drawer open in my dresser, and it took me a while to figure out how clothes were appearing on the bed while I was watching tv the other night. No socks, but she did chew a few designs in some t shirts..... _________________ gene , jonah , miko and rumor

Rumor NEVER leaves his pillow once we hit the bed, so can't blame him. And we all know that Jonah has grown into Mr. Serious Mature guy now...... _________________ gene , jonah , miko and rumor

LOL -- I love the tales of multi-Doodle households!! Around here, now that Ben is largely a mature, responsible citizen, I have only DH on which to pin the mischief.
And yes, friends -- it finally happens. Your endlessly inventive, mischief-making Doodle does mature and stop eating 21-year old African violets and carburetor jets.
Ben takes his morning responsibility of getting the newspaper in from the street very seriously -- when Boxer friend Gunny showed up one morning to "help" with the chore by tugging as per their usual routine, Ben's growl let Gunny know to "Back off, buddy! This is my JOB!!"
Even chasing moose has evolved into a half-hearted foray that ends quickly when I call Ben back for a handful of snackies.
