I have VPI for Maya as my company has a dicount through them. I have not submitted claims yet but I have some waiting to be sent. I researched all the companies and went with VPI as they have been in business the longest and for the money seemed to be the best buy. Maya has the highest level of cverage along with the additional plan for shots etc and I pay approx $24 a month I think. _________________ Heather, Morgan, Maya, and Sadie

thats a great price, but is that all that price covers?
with metlife (what is on their site for the coverage Annie has
coverage available
All accidents covered
All illnesses covered - including hereditary conditions
70% reimbursement
$150 for annual wellness costs
$100 deductible
Enrollment as early as 8 weeks of age
QuickCare Complete will cover your pet for life - there is no need to move to a senior plan
If VIP does that and is so much less expensive that may be a better company,
Can you check that out for us?? that would be just awsome!!!!
PS can you email me the Link and what coverage you have
thanks i am trying to get the best cost and coverage to offer to my puppy families,
thank you sooooooo Much!!! _________________ Nancy at Doodlesville(Virginia)

My reason for choosing Metropolitan over the other was the coverage of genetic conditions. _________________ AnnieG & Tanner

Yes, that is a great coverage with them and the reason i would choose them as well,,
we as breeders can only do so much, its really all in how the genes fall and the good lord wants to dish out to each pup ,,as with us humans, we have no control only the good lord
I was extremely impressed with Metlife, still am,the more i hear
would be wonderful if the charges were less _________________ Nancy at Doodlesville(Virginia)

Angel is covered by VPI.
VPI has TWO different plans-one that covers 80% and the other covers 90%. I chose the Superior Plan for her and it covers 90% and has a $50 deductible. I pay around $20/mo.
I have had many claims and I have found customer service to be very informative and friendly. I can also check the status of my claim online at their website. Payout time has been better than told by VPI. I usually recieve my reimbusment checks within 2-3 weeks after making the claim.
I will share the latest example...
Angel has been diagnosed with "Atopic or Allergic Dermatitis" with a secondary diagnosis of "Pyderma". She was put on 2 antibiotics for licking her paws to infection and an antihistamine. Her total vet bill was $173.21. That was on 4/16. My check was printed on 4/24. The reimbursment check was for $98.91. That is 90% coverage after my $50 deductible.
Then...the antihistamines did NOTHING for her and she cont. to lick her paws. Our vet wanted to do a follow-up after 3 weeks. SO...3 weeks later we were back at the vet with another round of antibiotics (2) perscirbed AND a steriod. Our visit was on May 9th and am waiting for the check. I will not be charged another deductible b/c I was charged at the intitial visit for the same problem. I will get %90 of all vet charges from this bill returned to my pocket!
Finally...the steriods worked and the antibiotics did the job and she is getting better. Yet again, we will be back at the vet for a recheck in a couple more weeks. Again, 90% coverage with no deductible! I asked VPI how many times these rechecks would be covered and I was told until the problem is fixed!
Martha...it is amazing of you to even think about offering your pups insurance! I hope it works out for you! There are a lot of people out there that don't know that insurance is available for their pet, so to even discuss this option with them and give them info. from the different insurance companies would help! Good Luck! |

Nicole,
Thank you for the example. I just purchased the plan and haven't yet used it. Sounds like your experiences have been good. I'm looking forward to similar experiences. _________________ Diane |
