|
|
We took Tanner to the vet today for issues with his digestive system....diarrhea, not eating. It is the same thing he had about 6 weeks ago.
The vet has put him on Tylan powder which we are to give 1 tsp by mouth 2 times a day. Has anyone out there used this and how did you get your doodle to eat it. He won't touch his food with it on, it doesn't dissolve in water, he wouldn't even touch ground beef with it in.

Does he like cheese???????????
Denver hates his flea/tick pills and will only eat
them in cheese. I melt the cheese a little in the microwave and then put pill, in your case powder in the middle and roll the cheese into a ball covering any trace of meds. Denver will spit it out if I have not used the right amount of cheese or if he can see it sticking out anywhere. _________________ Sue & Denver

awwh...poor Tanner.
We have not given it...hmmm...I'm having trouble thinking of a creative way to get it into him. I know you say it doesn't dissolve...do you think if you filled an ice cube tray with water and put the txp in a cube and froze it he would eat that? Otherwise (same general idea) how about putting yogurt in an ice cube tray (put the powder in the middle and then more yogurt) and freeze that? Just the first thoughts that come to my mind. _________________ Leslie M |

Great ideas... Thanks so much!
we have decided to split tomorrow's teaspoon into thirds. 1 will be put in cheese ball, one will be put in peanut butter and since Tanner doesn't like yogurt we will try a little frozen vanilla yogurt. _________________ AnnieG & Tanner

hmm,,isnt tylan powder for coccidia?> why didnt he just put him on albon?
I have in the past frozen pumpkin (pure pumpkin not the pie filling) in ice trays and given 2 -3 cubes daily
also i would recommend trying bland diet for several days,
what food are you feeding?
endosorb tablets help as well you can get them from www.kvvet.com _________________ Nancy at Doodlesville(Virginia)
