pregnancy

i have a labradoodle and she is pregnant, i had to take her to vet today because she hasnt had her puppies, she is due anyday, and they took xrays and said she is going to have 8 puppies that they can see. they have gave her till momday and if no puppies they will be doing a c- section on her. does anyone no if it is common for a labradoodle to have c-sections? i have had her for two yrs now she is choclate and i love her to death just worried about her. any ideas?

Usually Labradoodles are able to have pretty normal deliveries, but there's always the chance that one gets stuck at an odd angle, or some other unexpected problem. As long as the male wasn't way bigger than your dam you usually don't have problems. But if you do, thank God for C-sections so you don't lose both mom and pups!

Good luck I hope she decides to deliver them on her own and has an easy time of it.

Thanks, This is a pic of her when i brought her home, i feel in love with her from the first time i saw her. the male was her same size, i guess im just ready for her puppies. and worried at the same time.

Well We have been up all night in labor and still no puppies Sad

So off to the vet we go this morning..wish her luck, i have been talking to him all night and if she hasnt had a puppy by 8 am c-section is what he plans on doing.

she has 8 choclate healthy puppies, 4 girls 4 boys Very Happy

they are crying so loud, we just returned from vet waiting on momma to wake up. she had one blocking the way. ill post pics of puppies later on. thanks for the wishes..

8 is a perfect sized litter. Mom has 8 faucets, so they can all lay down to supper together. lol

I hope things go well now. It's a good thing you took her in. It can be very hard on Mom when a pup blocks the exit.
