Lincoln is crated at night as we are thinking it will help him feel safe and the foster mom also did this along with when we are not home. I am not totally comfy letting him lose when im not home since we just got him and im not sure how much he will get into yet however im thinking of not crating him at night and having him sleep in our room. Do you think its to early and even though i think he will feel safe at night will he? There are some mornings we wake and he still is sleeping in it. If he needs to go out he barks about 730am.

Does he seem to want to stay in your room at night? You can always try it for a night and see what happens. OR you could crate him in your room and see how that works. Just be prepared...they do wake up and walk around at night (or move/turn around if they're crated). Are you a sound enough sleeper? Question

Leaving the crate door open sounds like a good transition. he is a very deep sleeper however im beginging to wonder if my 19month old and i will wake him up since he wakes at night to pee pee or nurse Laughing guess they will test how deep of a sleeper lincoln is .

I did notice this evening when my room was dark he walked in and saw me walking but started backing up slowly as if he didnt realize who was in the dark room.

My youngest has already fallen on him and sat on him so im pretty sure hewouldnt nip if startled .

He is funny if my youngest wakes in the beginging of the night and i go in our room to nurse him ( cosleep) Lincoln will jump in bed and lay next to him. then after im out of the room in kitchen etc he will then sneak back in the room and lay back next to him. Since he is still new i dont totally say i trust him incase my 19month old got spooked with HIM int he bed LOL
