HI everyone...i just received a call from my breeder. Seems she is taking in a mixed doodle she breed a year ago.
Kirby is 13 mos OLD but not neutered but is HOUSEBROKEN and Trained.
He is a half sibling to max HIs dad is a tal apricot std poodle and his mother a goregous aurburn irsh setter. YES you read that right, for some reason there are certain people up here that asked for this breed in Western NY.

HE is gorgeous, has alot of POODLE in him and believe he is medium sized , not sure.

Hopefully i will be taking a picture of him either tonight or tomorrow and posting it.

I will have more complete info tonight on Brady. I do know he is reddish, curly and sweet natured. I will also list his size, exact age and the real reason he is being given up. So far my breeder was told that the couple has to move into an apt and they are heartbroken right now.

I cannot take on 3 dogs especially with my present situation. I have been asked to foster him but i can't at the moment. and if i did i'd have him till i found him a home. Max grew up with this litter when no one wanted a black dog ---except me Very Happy

Please if you know of anyone PM me ok? by 6:30pm tonight i'll be checking him out and seeing if i can temporarily foster him or not next week. I'd rather find him a good home though as my breeder has her hands full with her 4 dogs and new litter of goldendoodles.

The parents are of champion lines, i know both the parentsof this doodle quite well. They are excellent laid back natured. Both are great with their puppies too.

I want to piggy back on this post!
I hope you don't mind, Annmarie....

If this Setter-doodle gets a home, I have a 3yr old YANKEE DOODLE who needs a new home, since her OFA results aren't good enough for breeding. (Don't tell her tho, cuz she doesn't know it while she jumps and runs) Wink

I'm about to put an ad in the paper for Yankee, but it would be a joy to have her with another doodle family on this forum!

Maureen , i am curious is it risky to put an ad in the paper? or how about advertising on your website?

Cause i don't know how long i can foster Kirby as i had some major dental surgery and having a hard enough time right now taking care of mine. DAVE and my son are helping me out so much right now. and i've missed a considerable amount of work this week.

AND if Kirby doesn't get a home soon my breeder is going to have to do just that. I have been making some calls and Dave is driving me down in about a half hour to meet this cute doodle.

I was just hoping someone that maybe can't afford a doodle right now could have one already housebroken and trained and past the major puppyhood stuff for very little money as finding KIRBY a good home is the major concern.

i AM DYING TO SEE A PHOTO OF THIS GUY!! I HOPE YOU REMEMBERED TO TAKE YOUR CAMERA!!
Glad you have had some help this week.....Are you feeling at all better?

I'll be watching for the next post.....was this an accident litter, or on purpose?? I guess you said there was an interest in this combo up there.
I haven't heard of it....being in demand.

annmarie, you are such a sweetheart to do this for your breeder friend! And of course you have your hands too full at your house just getting healthy to take on a 3rd pup!

Yes, it is probably safe - I hope - for an ad in the paper. I will probably do just that, and have visiting hours only when my 16yr old son and/or my hubby is home, so I would recommend the same for you, or your breeder, with Kirby.

I guess I could also contact IDOG.BIZ friends....you could too.
Of course, the most logical thing is for someone local to contact you or me, but I would estimate shipping at around $400 for the crate, vet, and older, bigger weight's cost to the airline, in case you get long distance inquiries wanting Kirby.

OK KIRBY is home with me right now....and yes i forgot the name of this breed as it is in demand. Irish setter and std poodle. He has many poodle characteristics in both build and demeanor. he is better behaved than Max and peanut hahahhaa then again he's only been here for 15min now. Wink

Kirby is one week younger than max and his half brother. He was born June 15, 2006 so he's 13mos old, Is 23 in tall, built like a poodle in lean, his weight i would say 45lbs? he's light !! hahahhaa

OMG there is so much butt sniffing going on ....they keep circling so much i am getting dizzy

KIRBY is deep gorgeous apricot red with a curled up tail that has long feathers, and is so sweet, calm, submissive laid back male or rather NON dominant.
Kirby has a lean build with a extremely soft SILKY coat, it is a shorter coat that doesn't matt, he knows basic commands, is housebroken, crate trained, chews only his toys, and for right now all 3 doodles are being good.

Kirby was given up due to his mom getting married and moving to an apartment. i guess the whole family was crying so hard when they gave him to my breeder an hour ago but felt she'd find a real good home.
and that is exactly what we will do....find a real good home for a special doodle.

OH he cannot be used for breeding as he has ONLY 1 Testicle that dropped down and max is definitely curious about hahahhahaa

OK putting pics on photobucket and will post here in afew minutes

LOL Well I haven't said I can take him yet, but I sure am thinking about it! Its just the complete wrong time - But that was my reason for not taking the girl from Diane's last litter... an older puppy makes me reconsider...

Ack! LOL

Wow, he's beautiful! If I didn't already have a doodle or live so far away, I'd take him in a heartbeat. I hope he can find a really good home.

Ann Marie, he is stunning!
I know that he will find a good home quickly! You are great to help out.
You are a good person!

I hate to be one to sound like a witch here...but Ann Marie, please talk to your breeder about spay/neuter contracts!
I do hope that she is requiring her dogs to be spayed and neutered....just wondering, since this beautiful boy is not...

Maureen...I am so sorry about your baby...
