Hi everyone. I am fairly new to this forum. I have been breeding Labradoodles for 3 years ( I know, not long compared to most of you) Recently our stud was stolen. After searching for him using every available resource we could think of, we now accept he is gone. We want to continue breeding eventually, but are lost as to how to find a new stud. Most breeders seem to sell only with a spay/neuter, as we do. We are picky about our breeding stock. But the few breeders I know do not have anything we are interested in. Our stud produced amazing pups. I can't see breeding for anything less. I have no problem starting with a pup and waiting for the maturity, tests etc. It is just finding a reputable breeder to help me find the right guy to begin the process with. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
Thanks!
Cathy

Hi Cathy, what a horrible thing to have happen! I am so sorry...you must have gone through hell...
Your pups are really cute...sweeties for sure!
I didn't see on your web page if you test your breeding stock...do you? If not, that is probably the reason breeders are not eager to work with you...if you do, I am sure that there are breeders with high quality dogs that are willing to let you use their stud or buy a pup.
It appears that you do many of the things necessary to promote healthy pups, I hope that does include genetic testing. _________________ jacque.bayley.lexie.chase.rosie.nitos.amelia.dupree.madison.sherwood.gerry www.backporchlabradoodles-jacque.blogspot.com www.backporchlabradoodles.com |

No, we didn't ever find Woofman. I still have hope that someday we will. We are tracking new litters in the area to see if maybe someone took him to breed him? I honestly don't get why someone would steal him. Get your own! But all signs point to theft, it is the only way he could be gone. Anyway, we did get our new stud last week! He had big shoes to fill. I really didn't think we would find one that fit the bill. But a breeder friend of a friend told us about an amazing chocolate guy. We saw him and fell in love. He has all the personality traits we missed in Woof. I swear this guy was made to order. We joke that he could easily be the pup of Woofman and Libby. He has our favorite traits of both. Great guy. Odd, clownish but great. So we feel blessed ! _________________ Cathy
