This was on the Detroit Metro craigslist. I literally feel sick now:
DON'T LET HER DEATH GO UNJUSTIFIED SHE WAS ONLY 5 MONTHS OLD
THIS HAS GONE OUT TO EVERY NEWS PAPER< HUMANE SOCIETY AND CHANNEL 2, 4, and 7
In March I posted in craigslist.org to give away my puppy. I lost there number, and emailed twice and got no response. I posted back in crags list and received this email.

Thanks for Gracie. She did her job well and went out like a trooper. We used her for a target for attack training for our pit. Gracie took a bite to the neck and it only took her a few minutes for her to bleed to death. Don’t worry, she didn’t suffer long. Gracie didn’t put up much of a fight so we will be looking for another dog for our needs.
I called Warren Police and they said it could be any type of crazy person and said they could not do anything. here is the email it came from tvc15@wowway.com
and this is the original email from the people that took her N_V_ME80@yahoo.com
Then I called Michigan Humane Society, cruelty department and they said they have heard of this, and he was sorry they can't help me there is not anything they can do. _________________ Heather, Marduk, and Tiamat |

When I found Sadie I was warned not to advertise her on Craigslist as a lot of people pose as caring dog owners and thn use the puppies to train their pits. I could not imagine a more horrible fate for a little defense-less puppy!!!! _________________ Heather, Morgan, Maya, and Sadie

This is a horrible tale...horrible.
Evil people prey on innocence...of all species.
I think that this should also be reported to Craigslist...they might be able to better monitor the posts or at least post a warning. _________________ jacque.bayley.lexie.chase.rosie.nitos.amelia.dupree.madison.sherwood.gerry www.backporchlabradoodles-jacque.blogspot.com www.backporchlabradoodles.com |

it is disgusting that there are people out there like that!
my neighbor rescued an American Eskimo dog that was used a bait for dogs fights the shelter trained him via tons of patience/love and OB ....my neighbors have "Ice" for 2yrs and just a few months ago he is not acting like a happy puppy.
I admire people that can give dogs w/this type of background a new forever home showing them love they didn't have before
and the people that are like this post in the ad.....they should be caught and jailed _________________ Annmarie, Max,& Peanut

This is simply awful! I'm sure there are certain parts of any state that this happens in, but when I drive through places in Michigan like Detroit or Warren to mention a few, I can just SEE the cruelty to some animals these people have.
I was alerted to watch out for my Springer last year as people were stealing dogs from our yards in the suburbs to use them for just this type of thing. It breaks my heart and infuriates me! _________________ Linda & Bogart

I feel sick! I watch Animal Cops on Animal Planet, and the show from Detroit has stories of "bait" dogs frequently.
What the hell is the matter with people?? _________________ gene , jonah , miko and rumor

I mentioned this to my husband and he said that the police should certainly do something...they are lying if they say there is nothing they can do.
A citizen can also go to the District Attorney's office and file a complaint.
Everyone from that area, especially the person who gave the pup away, should contact the police and insist...ask them if they think that the Michael Vick case is any indication that society finds this type of activity illegal enough to warrant intervention?
Then, if nothing is done, go to the local news media, and other media...in the Enquirer and/or Globe (weekly scandal sheets, I know, but they do reach people) and tell them everyting. One of these publications, I forget which one, actually does a routine story about pet abuse and the light sentences that people get...maybe they should be told about the local police agencies who say that there is nothing they can do!
I am sure that some media will take it up...and maybe the word will spread...I know that it won't stop this kind of sicko, but it may give the puppy family some peace.
And, it may bring awareness to this "sport" ... just like the Michael Vick case did. _________________ jacque.bayley.lexie.chase.rosie.nitos.amelia.dupree.madison.sherwood.gerry www.backporchlabradoodles-jacque.blogspot.com www.backporchlabradoodles.com |

That poor little puppy. He didn't do anything wrong. That is just so sad. You know things like that happened. But you don't normally hear about it. It comes as a shock. And then it makes you think what is wrong with people now a days.
Just so sad. _________________ Samantha, Cacao and Beau

How horrible. I hate hearing about this sort of thing. It always always shocks me that people are capable of being so cruel and inhumane. They shoudl be jailed! It makes me so sad about these poor poor innocent dogs that don't have a chance. Even more of a reason to research who you are getting puppies from and support the good and honest breeders in your communities. _________________ Loving my doodle,

I agree with Jac - the police are lying if they tell you they can't do anything. You should get this to the AG's office ASAP. With the recent conviction of Michael Vick, people thankfully take this MUCH more seriously. That poor puppy - I would love to get my own hands on those people! _________________ Kim and Tyke

I don't know, this feels "hoax-ish" to me.... aside from listing alleged email addresses, it's a very vague posting. Off to do more research. I hope I'm right.... _________________ -Lynn

quick question: Craigslist is usually quick to delete a posting ad such as this. _________________ Annmarie, Max,& Peanut

My stomach is turning too. Why the heck would people tell the original owner a story like this? I actually doubt if that craigslist poster was actually the adopter. I'm not saying this doesn't happen, I just think someone posted this to be cruel.
