Mary,
We just got home from the hospital. She had surgery on July 2nd. She had 2 hard days after surgery and one good day and now she's all sparkles and doing well.
The dr. got only 50% of the tumor out...we haven't gotten the pathology report back yet, so, we don't know if the type of tumor is the same and if the grade is the same which would be a grade 3. But, she did well. At first after surgery she was forgetful. And teary eyed. She also was very angry and it was all directed at me not her daddy. She only wanted her daddy.
The doc said that this surgery might affect her short term memory and that kindof scared us but, now she is fine. She doesn't have any residual effects. Her left leg is fine. Dr. said she may have left leg weakness but, she doesnt have any...God performed another miracle...She is doing fantastic...She's walking perfectly and running and all of that. SHe won't be able to swim for 2 weeks which is favorite thing to do BUMMER...She'll start radiation in a couple weeks...Thank you all for praying for her we so much appreciate it...please keep doing so as we still haven't conquered the battle...oh one more thing the dr. did say as he took the tumor out that it looked more "cellular" which he said means that it is starting to "grow faster" which I don't know if that's good or bad?? In my book I'd say it's bad...will know more when he calls us with the pathology results...
