Ok too CUTE!! I just wanted to give you another idea about walks. Cacao used to refue to go for walks. But if you take a big wooded spoon of peanut butter with you ((Yes you look fun walking your dog with a BIG wooded spoon with peanut butter)) but it works. Cacao loves peanut butter so i tried that. Hope that helps. _________________ Samantha, Cacao and Beau

one step at a time,
one day at a time...
the whole world is a new experience,
TONS of smells, sights, noises, and different tastes to explore!!
Mija was always tentative with new things,
I would walk forward a few paces and stop, with my back to her--although she took her time, she always came up to me....rewards and praise, followed by turning around and going back....
like Leslie, Imtoth, it took us probably a week to get down about 4-5 houses on our block...by the next week, we made it to the end of the street....
confidence is gained with time and patience,
they start to trust that WITH YOU they can be SAFE anywhere.
GOOD LUCK,
AND,
ENJOY!!!!

With puppies this size you should be using the smallest, lightest leash you can find. I start pups out with tiny show leashes which weigh almost nothing. I've seen pics of pups with big metal "D' ringed collars and heavy leashes with large buckles. These things do not encourage the pup to walk on leash. Puppies love to chase things so I let Abby chase me whenever she stopped. Then one day she started pulling on the leash Then there was...and on and on Enjoy these stages of development as they are the memories you will relish later on! _________________ mtd/renee/abby/dr katz
