I use two plastic bads one to cover my hand and one to put the poo in and pick it up and put in the bag. Then walk around till all done. I know i could by that poo thing......but i just haven't yet. I may do it soon.
Thanks for your input. _________________ Samantha, Cacao and Beau

I have the poo rake and shovel. I line an old empty cat litter bucket with a garbage bag and pick up with shovel and rake and put in the bag. _________________ Heather, Morgan, Maya, and Sadie

when I'm walking Dex and he goes, I use the small bags they sell (in a roll). When we pick up in the yard I grab a plastic bag from the food store and use one of the small poop bags (in a roll) to pick it up and dump it in the food store bag. Luckily both of our doodles tend to poop down in our wooded area of the yard and we just let nature take it's course down there and do not pick it up most of the time. _________________ Leslie M |

I use plastic grocery bags at home and the rolled bags while on walks. I just found a local source for the biodegradable bags, they are about 14 cents a bag so I'm hoping on line they will be much less expensive, if not I guess it is worth it for the environment. _________________ Lisa, Lani and Toby

Sadie usually goes on her walk, so we'll use one of these:
However, if she goes in the yard, we'll use this (the one on the right):

I use double newspaper bags on hand to pick up and and then deposit in double plastic grocery bags which then go in the garbage. A bonus of this super expensive kibble Cali's on is that she only poos once a day instead of 2-3 times per day. _________________ Meg and Cali

funny question
i use "mutt mitt" bio-degradable bags. i love them since they have a 2-ply design that i find keeps my hands clean and nice smelling, even with sammy's mushy poops. although lately, the soft poops have gotten harder and harder to pick up and i find myself pulling out a bunch of grass to pick everything up and avoid flies. yuck! |

I also use a pooper scooper like in picture a few posts up. I always avoided picking up poops until I got one of these. They are great but not all work the same. Mine is a bright purple and called poop patrol from PetCetra. On walks I use the ikea poop bags. _________________ Lily and Bailey |

With three to pickup after, I use the disposable diaper bags from the Dollar Tree......100 for a buck and they smell nice. _________________ gene , jonah , miko and rumor

Good to know that this topic is still alive and well....
(with new folks asking the same questions that the oldies did!!
...we all have so many poop concerns, I think it is hysterical!!)
If you do a search you may find other poop scooping methods
listed.... but, once more...here is the little scooper I use.
I got it from Petco and I love it! I pick it up with this and deposit
into a sack and throw in the garbage for the truck to pick up.
It works great! I hang it on a nail outside on the fence....
someone had a concern that in the winter the plastic would
crack in the freezing temps...being in Dallas, TX...
I didn't really have that problem...though it stayed right where
it hangs in the twenty degree weather overnight lots of times !

Oh, and I use the poop bags, too... while on walks to pick up after them when they use someone else's yard, or parkway....

OH! That's a good idea!!
I too use plastic grocery bags on walks. In the yard I have the pooper scooper claw.
I pick up after every single itty bity poo. That's amazing for me........the last dog, I didn't and decided this time it's a MUST! _________________ Linda & Bogart

Very clever! Gotta try this!
We use grocery store bags on walks, and pooper scooper into double grocery store bags for the backyard... _________________ Jenny, Sam, Lucas, & Della |
