Hi -- We're new to this forum, but this seems to be the place to come for Labradoodle-related info.
We're a family very much in the market for a Doodle but we simply can't get a puppy: both us parents work full-time (with some flexibility on hours) and our daughters, 11 and 13, are in school during the day.
What we're hoping to find is a one-year-old or older who needs a new home and who, after the initial adjustment period, can get by with crating and a mid-day walk (aside from morning and evening romps, of course). We had a beloved mutt for twelve years who passed away a few years back; in size and coat and temperament he was so similar to a Labradoodle that the breed seems like the right choice.
I'm hoping someone here can either give us advice or point us to a dog somewhere in the Northeast. (We're in Massachusetts, Boston area.) That one-year-old down in Georgia recently posted looks like a great guy but he's just too far away for us.
Any thoughts? Thanks much!

Hi Lori, welcome to the forum
I do have some older Labradoodles looking for a new home
we dont ship however
I have had just this week folks drive here from MA to pickup pups so it is doable
please see our main site below, complete a application mention that you had posted here and i responded reguarding older doodles
Requirements>>> Fenced yard , older children and ability to come home mid day to interact and take out dog if needed (8hrs in a crate is no life for a dog)
after you have completed a application ,we can set up phone interview and if approved i can forward you the link to the adults available
hope to hear from you soon

Wow, that guy is *exactly* who we're looking for. Unfortunately they won't adopt outside of the NJ/NY area. Bummer. We'll check the other links mentioned above -- this is all a big help, thanks!

Ty you will find that most wont adopt out of the state,
Not to mention most rescues are even stricter in who qualifies
good luck in your search _________________ Nancy at Doodlesville(Virginia)

TYBURR.........hi and welcome.
good luck in your search and i appreciate honesty of what you are looking for, YOUR doodle is out there just may take a bit of time to find him/her
poomixrescue.com and petfinder are good places to start
also every so often people here post when they have to give up an older dog.
there is one here , let me look but i don't know how far it is. brb _________________ Annmarie, Max,& Peanut

You might be able to work something out with these people:

We're moving to Maryland (from Chicago area) soon, and need to find a new home for our two year-old male Labradoodle. He's about seventy pounds, neutered, has shots, house and crate-trained, knows a few commands. Temperament is very friendly, non-aggressive, fairly calm, obedient, good with our kids. Excellent watchdog with loud bark (doesn't attack, only barks). No papers, we got him from shelter in Texas, but no doubt he's a Labradoodle. He's a very good dog, just too big and loud for where we'll be living. Would need leash training, but learns quickly and is very trainable. He does chew just about anything if he is bored and not provided with chew toys.
E-mail me and I'll send you a photo or two of him, if you're interested. I couldn't quite figure out how to paste the image into this message. We'll be in Chicago nine more days, then we'll take him with us to Maryland if we can't find him a new home here.
