We have a very sweet boy needing rescue immediately. He is sick and running a fever, but tested negative for parvo. He has an upper respiratory infection, and is on medicine. Please, if anyone can open their home to this guy so he can get well, email rescue@idog.biz

There is nothing wrong with him other than a normal respiratory infection. Please, if anyone can help in any way, email rescue@idog.biz

Thank you
Shannon

OH he is cute as a button

Just so other's know ,,,,if runny a fever ,just like children that run a fever
it is very possible he is contagious to other dogs so be very careful

especially if he is now in a shelter environment
he would have to be put in solitary away from other dogs for 14days (parvo's gestation)
Just a heads up Smile
hopfully someone will have the room to help this fellow

This shelter has NOT had any problems with parvo. If a dog is fully vaccinated the risk of catching a bad disease is very minimal.

Yes, we do take risks wih our dogs at times, but kennel cough is very treatable and in a dog that is not sick and up to date on shots, it is just like having a slight cold.

He has already started responding to antibiotics and is on his way to recovery.

If we felt that this dog or any dog that we asked people to take would cause a bad problem for someone else's dog, we would not take it.

We also do not let anyone foster that has a puppy or a very young dog. The risks are too high for a younger dog that may not be completely vaccinated.

Thats awsome Shannon,
however not having a problem in "this shelter" doesnt mean they wont if they bring in a parvo carring pup or dog, in shelters you just never know what will come in infected and transmit to other dogs unknowingly
its just somthing that shelters have to deal with

and informing people of fever with a infection can very well be contagious is very important,
kennel cough can be hard to treat and get rid of ,if in fact this is what it is
it is HIGHLY contagious especially if coughing thats how it spreads

Im sure you will find a wonderful home for this guy, he is a beauty
good luck to you

We all understand that, and to deal with kennel cough in my home is not a problem. I would prefer to take care of coughing, even in my dogs rather than see a dog get put to sleep because they have kennel cough.

The shelter he is in will euthanize any dogs that even seem remotely sick. The small risk with kennel cough and treating it is definitely worth taking.

Absolutly ,,, My point is that educating others that are not aware of the risks and know what they are getting into it important, so sorry you are having a problem comprehending what i am trying to advise
Im sure there is a home out there, but i dont want anyone to bite off more then they can chew,,as im sure you dont either
do you have him with you now?

Shannon hang in there you're doing a great job and i am sure someone will come forward that can outweigh risks or be made aware of any.

Ijust guess no breeders or anyone with small puppies would be omitted.

I am really HAPPY THOUGH to hear this guy is responding well to antibiotics and the thought of him being put down, someone has to come forward...so prayers being said here for him

I would love to take this guy, but he is 2 states away, and I cannot get that far.

Luckily, Jo did find a nice lady to pick him up and she is bringing him to the vet so he is safe. Still needs a place to go, but that can be worked out.

A very nice lady has offered to take him in until a home is found, so the plea has been answered. Thank you all!
