Also Linda--some dogs are just more sensitive than others. When Dakota was going through basic obedience there was a 'no negative correction' policy. BUT the instructor said in the case of a bull-headed pup like Dakota, the policy sometimes needs to be bent a bit!!! Dakota is not at all sensitive to correction. to our frustration, he will in fact pull against his prong collar. I'm afraid he will actually hurt himself. _________________ Diane (and Dakota)

Thanks again for your help!
I talked to the trainer today and she said that if Bogie didn't appear to be hurt and played later, he was more than likely confused.
See, when we get Bogie in a Stay position, we throw balls and frisbies etc around him to distract him. He's really good at this and doesn't move.
We even had a service person to the house yesterday. I got him in a Stay position and he did really well!
So, the trainer thought it was just confusion. The throwing of the balls and frisbies etc was like what we did before............so he STAYED!! OMG! Did he ever stay!!.....hahahaha!!
I think things will be fine. He went to Puppy Play today and I'm not feeling all that hot and on antibiotics, so we toook the night off training.
He laud on the bed with me and snuggled for awhile.
Like scrudge said..........he will forget it!! .........it's just me!
It's nice to know it works for Napa. I think I'll eventually try it again. We do the treat at the nose too for sit as taught. For some reaon, they want the pull/choke without the word SIT!
I'm going to play it all as it goes along. If I see his sensitivity is too high, I won't do that particular thing. I can't stand it if he's emotionally hurt or traumatized. It's not worth it to me! _________________ Linda & Bogart
