I've always use Vet Wrap you can get a lot of colors from KY Vet and if you have a huge litter I just use 2 colors. I just make sure everyday Mama doesn't pull one off until I Microchip them. _________________ Linda & Gracielou

I never found anything to work better than the vetwrap. If you have more puppies than you do colors of vetwrap, just twist two colors together |
Perhaps I'm getting OLD but whatever happened to using clipping patterns to ID PUPS? _________________ mtd/renee/abby/dr katz

That's the way I used to do it with GR. different patterns on each pup. Snip on RFPaw=M males snipped on r/side LFPaw=F females snipped on left side. Each one then had an ID clip associated with the buyer ie: 1 clip on tail goes to Annmarie-2 clips on tail to Nancy etc. (or on the rear legs) It's an easy system (if you write it down) _________________ mtd/renee/abby/dr katz

With our luck we would plan it all out, write it all down , then Monet ( 7 mos old) would come and eat the paper and we'de be left with a huge question mark?
Thanks for the suggestion tough..sounds like a good idea with maybee a smaller litter...then the fur would grow out and wede forget to reclip..lol the silly list of the stupid things we would do or not do goes on & on...
Does any one else clip? _________________ Martha and Tom

Our breeder used breakaway nylon safety cat collars that they bought at a dollar store. (They removed the bells, of course - a choking hazard for baby doodles!). They were able to get enough different prints to cover Callie and all her siblings (a litter of 12! 10 blacks, a chocolate, and a yellow, even split of 6 males, 6 females). _________________ My dogs are not my whole life, but they make my life whole! |

I purchased vet wraps from Amazon-10 different colors and they are wonderful-they even gave me 1 free roll!! They don't come off, adjustable, and I don't have to worry about them chocking the puppies. I have tried ribbons and other things before and I will not trade vet wraps with anything else-they are very convenient to use. Thank you all for sharing this information.
