My vet gave me a great recipe for doggie treats. I made them last night for a special Thanksgiving treat for all the dogs in my family (Uma, my parent's dog, and my doggie nieces and nephews).
Pre-heat oven to 350.
Ingredients:
3.5 cups of oats
1.5 cups of pumpkin
1/4 cup of applesause (plain)
1 tsp. of vanilla extract
Combine all ingredients. Roll into small balls and place on cookie sheet. Lightly press each ball with a fork. Bake 15 minutes. Let cool and enjoy.
It's really easy and it'll include your pup on Thursday while we are all indulging!
* These do not spread out like most cookies you make, so feel free to place them right next to each other when baking. _________________ Katie, Uma, and Juno |

Perfect!!! We'll be "breaking bread" with friends and several wonderful doggies on Thursday and searching, pointlessly I’m afraid, for a snowy setting for doggies Christmas pics . . . I’m make the treats tonight! _________________ Diane (and Dakota)

SEVEN INCHES?
I wish!! Which part of NJ? I'm in Union Co. and we just have a gloppy white covering on the grass, not even sticking on the roads. This is just a tease to me, I want REAL snow!!

The oats are oatmeal, old fashioned I imagine. Pumpkin comes in a can - don't get the pumpkin pie filling. I'm trying them tomorrow. Need to get another can of pumpkin for the pie though.
How long do these bake? |

OMG Linda - where in NJ are you?? I saw some flakes here at work (Southern Union County) this morning. I did see some cars coming into the parking deck covered and snow and I wondered where they were coming from _________________ Leslie M |

I made these last night and my babies loved them! They made my house smell great while they were cooking too. Next time I will spray my cookie sheet with Pam as they did stick to the pan.
Thanks for the recipe! _________________ Autumn
