I HATE malls and busy stores, so always try to get my shopping done early and as much of it bought online as I can. My goal was to be half done by last Friday, and I had gotten 15 of 26 people bought for that day. I'm now at 17... so I'm right on target for now.
So is anyone else getting done yet? _________________ www.tinkerdoodle.net

I got my daughter several things last week, a couple for DAVE and bones so far for my doodles. I have a ways to go yet but doing a little each week.
I also make up baskets with homemade goodies as presents too that way my piggy bank doesn't go broke hahahhaaa DAVE's family is way too big _________________ Annmarie, Max,& Peanut

My family knows that I need a list by Thanksgiving. I do all my shopping the day after Thanksgiving. My Mom and I get up early (4am) and hit the sales. I usually am all done by 8am on that day. Yeah it sucks getting up that early but where we shop the mall doesn't start getting crowded until like 9 or 10am that day. _________________ Heather, Morgan, Maya, and Sadie

Always have best of intentions, but am shopping up to the end. Getting ideas for everyone seems to get more challenging each year. None of us need more "stuff". Guess I should start soon! I have some ideas at least. _________________ Meg and Cali |

My hardest ones to buy for are 6 nephews who live a distance away and I see only once a yr. They range from 10 - 16, and I have no clue what their interests are from year to year. So every year I join a DVD club and buy them each a new release movie... this year I paid $27 for 7 movies, so it's an economical way to do it. After the holidays are over I've usually met my club requirements so quit the club until the following year again. lol
That's my best holiday shopping trick. _________________ www.tinkerdoodle.net

I'm a last minute shopper...then again I don't have much to buy. My husband and I promise each other to not buy gifts (neither of us really need anything and we're going on vacation close to christmas so that can be our gift to each other)...then it's just my parents, brother and some friends.
Kristin - can you believe I had to look up who Hanna Montana was the other day? I keep hearing about her, but I had no clue _________________ Leslie M |

I'm with you Meg!!!! What our family has started doing is getting together on Christmas Eve for tons of food and a 'Yankee Swap'..where everyone buys a gift around $25.00...and we have a blast...everyone picks a number, and then we proceed...number one picks the first gift and keeps it (for awhile)...number 2 picks a gift, and if they like number 1's gift better they swap...this goes on till all the gifts are chosen, and at the end, number one can swap with anyone they choose! It's a lot of fun, and takes up quite a bit of the evening with 23-27 people swapping and laughing and trying to hide their gift so no one else will take it!!!
Also another thing I've done is take the money that I would have spent on individual gifts..because again we all have way too much 'stuff'...and donate it to the local Food Bank...they all get an acknowledgement from the Bank too....kind of makes Christmas more meaningful for me.... _________________ Kathie,Raleigh & Molly!
