Neat thread!
I, like Jac, have been around a while so have worn a few different hats.
I've been an EMT on an ambulance service, A Realtor, insurance agent, administrator/coordinator/moderator on a couple of online sites, and most recently retired as teller supervisor of a bank.
My dearly beloved of 22 yrs is a semi driver.
We have Moses, my shadow, who is a Standard Poodle and is our stud,
Canada, who is our Lab dam and official face kisser, and 12 of their pups who keep us laughing. _________________ www.tinkerdoodle.net

great idea for a thread!!
Wow---so many talented people wearing MANY different hats!!
These doodles are so lucky to have you ALL!!!
Paul and I are both antiques/art dealers....we each work for different galleries but we both specialize in antique Native American art....
if you're ever curious:

Our doodle Mija, although she has yet to pick up on the finer points of selling/collecting art, is a TRUE gallery dog-----she meets and greets everyone with a hearty lick and is an invaluable resource for "breaking" through even the hardest shelled tourists!!!
Other than that, I would list Mija's occupation as "professional, full time dog." _________________ REASON #50, "Why I love my doodle so": My doodle teaches ME new things EVERY day! |

Wow, what a variety we have here! After college I worked at a bank as an administrative assistant. One of my major job responsibilities was proofreading legal documents! Now you know why I am the typo-catching queen!!!
When my father died, my brother, Mac (hubby), and I took over my family's business manufacturing girls' clothing. When we were forced to close the factory, I concentrated on being a stay-at-home mom.
6 yrs ago Mac and I opened a landscaping, lawn, & tree care business and 2 years later separated the tree surgery and tree application business into it's own company. I'm the President of both corporations and Mac is my VP!
The dogs like to sit on the window sill and make sure the crews are doing their jobs right! _________________ Mindi

I'm currently working at a Sport Licensing Agency in PVB, Florida. We do licensing for the PGA TOUR, Churchill Downs, Petty Racing, CFL, CHL, and a handful of other clients including Tiget Woods and Roger Federer. Very exciting stuff. My husband passed the Bar recently and started as a State's Attorney in downtown Jacksonville. We don't believe in the death penalty, but he swears if an animal abuse case ever comes across his desk he might change his mind!
Uma was recently appointed President of the Neighborhood Watch Association (or so she thinks). It's a BIG responsibility for her, which includes saying "hello" to every dog that walks by, alerting everyone if there's a "squirrel situation," greeting me at the door, etc. _________________ Katie, Uma, and Juno |

Chouette is General Cheerer-Upper for the family, and is aiming toward Watchdog but isn't there yet.
DH and I are both retired school psychologists and currently I do commissioned portraits in oils, and non-commissioned landscapes. My prints of people and places in France are selling surprisingly well for paintings of another area; normally what moves are local scenes.
DH and I also have a long history in planning, zoning, and environmental issues. We helped get Wild and Scenic Rivers designation for our local waterways. He chaired the township zoning board for over twenty years and I chaired our local planning board for about seven but was a member for more than twenty. I was also vice chair of the county planning board for a long time and am currently the county's appointee to the state Pinelands Commission, and also trustee for a local grassroots environmental group. DH was president of the local school board for ten years, ages ago.
We have chickens and ducks and manage part of our property as a woodlot, which takes a lot of DH's time. We used to raise sheep and goats but stopped awhile ago.
Son is the top salesman at the car dealership where he works and daughter is a supervisor for the state child protection services. Neither is interested in the environment, but our granddaughter is, as much as a ten-year-old can be!
Leslie
Oh, forgot to say that I have always had the official or unofficial job of editor/proofreader wherever I've been - but I've been resisting it here, you'll be happy to know!

I too work in clinical research. I have been working in the field for about 4 years now. Maya's job is to be a clown and make me smile, be a friend to everyone she meets. Oh and bark at ghosts when we are out of town and in the hotel. I hope one day she can be a therapy dog because I see how much joy she brings to my friends and family. I would like to be able to share the love. _________________ Heather, Morgan, Maya, and Sadie

What a great thread! So many interesting jobs and people.
I am an electrical engineer who works in designing electrical systems for healthcare facilities. My first 'from the ground up' hospital just opened last weekend - 5 years of my life - and I'm beyond proud.
My husband was a mechanical engineer designing a home hemodialysis unit, then moved on to working on a hemostatis machine with another firm and became a part-time firefighter/EMT. Last fall he landed a job as a full-time firefighter/EMT and is now a FF/Paramedic full-time for one village and part-time for ours and works some shifts a a private ambulance company.
Our son is a professional student (3rd grade). Our daughter is a professional PITA and entertainer (she enters K next fall).
Cody is a counter-surfer for anything he can get, stealer of anything that isn't his because he can, and overall entertainer and sweet dog. _________________ -Marjie |

Terrific idea for a thread!!!!
I'm retired 32 years from a large insurance company in Hartford as an actuarial systems analyst and later as a commission systems analyst; then found a part-time? job in a small manufacturing plant that makes parts for Pratt & Whitney jet engines as an administrative assistant in the office...jack of all trades...master of none...hahahaha..altho it looks like more fun working on one of those machines!!!..total opposite of the corporate world, and a breath of fresh air, if you know what I mean!!! Just waiting for Bruce to retire (1-2 yrs) from the school system where he is the middle school band director...can't wait!!! Then we'll make our home in NH...and probably spend winters in Virginia Beach where his brother lives!
Molly our chocolate lab tries to keep Raleigh the noodle...um I mean doodle in check on a daily basis.., and helps me sweep up all the stuffing that magically appears when new toys arrive!!! _________________ Kathie,Raleigh & Molly!

At present I don't have an occupation other than personal servant to Annabelle
For 30+ years I worked as a secretary/office manager/admin assistant, a lot of the years spent in the medical field, spent 5 yrs as a secretary in a critical care unit (my fave job) worked for a home infusion company, home health, a resort and some other places. Also worked cleaning carpets for a short time.
Past few years I've been home, disabilities got the better of me and made working difficult.
DH works for an architectural millwork company - all sorts of woodworking, they build and ship to job sites
Annabelles main job is being a sweetpea and Mama's faithful companion _________________

And that's why we love them, right?
God bless the doofus in them.....it's definitely my favorite trait of the doodle! _________________ gene , jonah , miko and rumor
