I work as a bilingual second grade school teacher for most of the year. I also do massage, reiki and Healing Touch for animals ( human, canine, feline, equine). In the summer I work on the CSA farm I am a member of and entertain the dogs at home.
Pringle's job is retrieving balls. It's not a game, it's a job! Finn keeps me, Pringle and Dobby the cat entertained. He will eventually be a therapy dog in some capacity. _________________ Susan, Pringle and Finn |

Marduk's primary jobs are to provide comic relief and kisses.
Although I am off of work right now due to klutzing up my hand, I work swing shift in a steel mill as a line operator on a galvanizing line. I load coils onto the line and weld them. (kinda like a real version of "How it's Made"). I also work full time as a mom.
My husband, Russ, works on the same line as a millwright/materials coordinator. He orders the parts we need, figures out what jobs need doing on down days, and fixes the equipment. At home he is making hydrogen generators for cars and trucks and selling them (yes, this really works!)
The kids are dog taker outers and room cleaners, though they fail miserably at the latter! _________________ Heather, Marduk, and Tiamat |

I'm an EDI Coordinator (computer geek) by day. I also draw and paint but unfortunately don't make my living that way.
My partner has her PhD in Psychology and works at a local clinic and has a small private practice. We have a 16 year old girl, twin girls who are 6 1/2, Horton of course...an almost 11 year old pug, a cat who is the spawn of satan, two rats (they really ARE nice pets) and a sweet little bunny named Dusty. |

Mabel is the official wrangler of tabby-cats for the house but also likes to dabble in garden relocation (bringing it INTO the house) and laundry supervision.
OH is a director at a law school here in London that trains graduates to become solicitors and barristers.
I am an administrator at the same law school as OH. |

I am a librarian at a community college. My beloved is self-employed as an commercial equipment auditor for large companies like John Deere. Our 10 year old son goes to school.
Gunner's job is maintaining a 24/7 squirrel patrol, alerting us when anyone comes onto the property, drinking the cats' water and stealing their food whenever possible, and providing unconditional and continual love. _________________ Sara and Gunner (the doodle doggie) |

I am a registered dietitian and the Chief Clinical Dietitian for a small town hospital. I work with inpatients, teach outpatients, teach diabetes education classes, VERY occasionally do cooking demos. This is my first professional career after graduating with my degree and I've been at it for 5 years.
I would prefer to do nutrition writing and public speaking rather than work for a hospita--I started here with hopes of moving on quickly. But then I got married and I like my town and I don't have many other options.
I attempted to start a private practice: www.GoEatSmart.com a few years ago (as a side job) but the size of my town/the market just didn't support it. I still see private clients on occasion, though, but don't market myself anymore.
What I would LOVE is to get into a dog related business: TRAINING specifically, but to jump from my career now with benefits into something that would be far less income to start is more than I"m ready for. _________________ -Adina

I feel I should join this dog race. our Hugo the Boss's job is to greet tourists, along with our standard poodle Gussy. These visitors often hit the brakes when they spot the dogs as they are driving by. They leap out of their cars so they can have their dog/poodle/doodle fix (you know how it is when you are away from home). The dogs also keep us young, entertained, poor and smothered in love, which is returned in equal measure.
My first career was as an interior designer (but that was a million years ago). After our 2 sons were born I spent more than 20 years as a full time volunteer wildlife carer in Australia. Our kids grew up in a zoo house. Behind every door was a bag containing a baby kangaroo, wallaby, wombat, or similar. My specialty was birds and several parrots spent their daytime coming and going as they pleased from inside the house.
I was also a volunteer staff member of Camp Quality for 13 years prior to moving to Norfolk. CQ is an organisation which looks after kids aged from 4 to 16 who are suffering from cancer.
We came to Norfolk Island on a 3 yr posting. My husband, Miles, was Manager of the National Park. During our stay our home in Australia was destroyed by a bush fire so, with nothing to go back to, we made this beautiful place our home.
Our elder son married an American and they have just moved from Austin Tx to San Diego. He is a computer geek who went to Austin to work on artificial intelligence. She is a physical therapist. They have two beautiful babies.
Our younger son lives with his fiancee in Sydney Australia. He is a vocalist/guitarist at night and on weekends and a youth worker during the day. She is a school teacher. They are expecting their first child in December. _________________ Anne, Tassies Hugo the Boss and Tassies Hot Potato (and our DH Miles). |

This is very interesting.
I can't believe how many people on this forum work in clinical research or regulatory with Pharma & hospitals, as I do.
I have a guess where imtoth works...I deal with all major Pharma...might come across eachother at some point.
Kahlua is currently employed as a slug as he cannot cope with humidity-has beaten his best record for tinkles & poop today-under 5 seconds and back into the lovely air conditioning. _________________ Megan |

Napa is our Houdini, entertainer-extrodinaire.
I'm a super senior in college- transfered universities, changed majors 3 times, still not 100% content but will graduate next year!!!! I'm planning on going to grad school in Statistics, and possibly take some classes in business areas.
My live-in bf is a student too. He's a nursing major and will probably be a super senior by the time he's done as well!
We're poor college students who have a love obsession with doodles! This could be trouble! aka the doodle bug has bitten!!! _________________ Kristen and Napa-doodle, the chocolate doodle! |

It's been a very long time since I visited here. What a cool thread!
I am an LMSW (lisensed master of social work). I work in a school for children with autism (ages 2.9-21). I run family support groups, parent trainings, and offer vaious other supports to families.
Hubby is part owner (with 2 partners) and project manager for a basement waterproofing company.
We have 2 sons - ages 19 and 15. Our oldest has just completed his first year of college. He is a biology major (pre-med). My younger son just comlpeted his fist year in high school and hopes to become an engineer.
Lexi will be 2 in August. She was initially employed as a fill-in to combat the dreaded empty nest syndrome when #1 son left for school. She quickly won all of our hearts and has proven that she is NO FILL IN FOR ANYONE! So she is currently working toward her good citizenship, and hopes to become a therapy dog so she can come to work with me! So far I'm not sure she's going to be able to do it. So she may have to continue to support herself as official after dinner finger licker a little while longer (napkins? who needs em!). _________________ Maddie & Lexi
