Nancy, most of my friends (online and in 3-D life) call me Tink. I actually answer to that quicker than my given name. So no apology needed.
I'm so glad you're staying in Doodle breeding. I look at what you and Jac have accomplished and it inspires me to keep learning and growing. The 2 of you are great role models and I would hate to see either of you gone from breeding or the site. You both have so much to teach us newbies... we NEED you! _________________ www.tinkerdoodle.net

Well I'm glad your going to take life easier at least, we all deserve that at some point. I do know how you feel about letting the older ones go but they will be fine as long as you screen the families like you do for your puppies. I always say there is a good forever home out there you just can't get in a hurry.
I had a female that was 2 and never had a heat cycle until after she was 2, so I decided not to breed her. She was a little shy she was so use to Tom and I and all the dogs here, so I worried about placing her. I had a family email me about a puppy and they came out and picked one out. They went home and emailed their friends in CO so they looked at my site to see the pup. Well I had this female on the site as an adult to sell, I do that because for free everyone calls or emails and I do end up giving them away but after I screen them and know they will be a good home. Anyway they emailed and called me they are an older couple only owned Yorkies in the past. Mind you she is a 60 maybe 70 pound female, I told them about her and sent pictures and they decided to take her. Well their friends were going out to visit the next week so they came by and got her and took her to them. They email me every week with new pictures, she has every toy I do believe Pets Mart has on their shelf or use to have. She has her own spot on the couch and bed, she goes to work with her mom who does property management. So I guess the moral here is there are good homes even for our adults it just takes time.
Don't beat yourself up for caring about your dogs it's what you do, it's what we all do here. _________________ Linda & Gracielou

Nancy, i hope it all works out for you and you have a sight on new avenues
and
there are people out there that want older dogs. many times at my job the older customers want an older dog saying a puppy is too much for them. Sooooooo hang in there and though it takes time , the "right couple" usually comes along when you least expect it.
i wish you good luck and hope for the best _________________ Annmarie, Max,& Peanut

Gee Nancy, take me for example, we decided to put our house on the market in April and move to town (because of health reasons). We sold our house within 6 wks and had all my adults and puppies placed in wonderful homes (some of the adults went to pet homes, some to approved breeders) and moved by August 1st. I was amazed how easily it was to place my adults. I get updates regularly and couldn't be happier with how things turned out. That just tells me it was meant to be. Good luck _________________ Di & Archie
