Seriously, everyone, the support and encouragement on this forum is so great. Thanks to all of you.

We are very excited. I made my shopping list for Petsmart. We're going to have to have everything ready for the little princess when she arrives.

If anyone can think of any "must haves" and new puppy needs that an "old dog" owner might not think of, please let me know! Most importantly we need a crate, food and toys - lots of toys!!!

Thanks everyone - this is a great group!

Hi Betty
Congratulations on your new addition. The KY lab rescue is a great organization. I know of at least one other person that adopted a doodle from them and they were very happy with their choice and the dog. Buster is a cutie! Good luck.

1 more day Betty Smile I know you said you are 2 hrs from the shelter but do you live in Kentucky? I'm from Louisville, Ky. (Valley Station) and then moved to Oldham Co. before moving to Colorado in '86.

We are in Cincinnati. Just a jump over the river and we are in KY.

It's getting close. I"ll be leaving home in about 24 hours. Lots of work to do in the meantime....shopping, puppy proofing, etc. I starting looking at this book we have about puppies, it's probably a little outdated, but I started freaking out. There's so much to remember about crate training, housebreaking, chewing, on and on. I think we will baby gate her in to the kitchen/family room area when we get started. I forget about puppies wandering off and getting into trouble.

It's gonna be so much fun!

How old is Buffy? You probably already said. Also any idea on the weight? She is a beauty. What time do you go tomorrow....tic,tock,tic,tock. Last week at this time I swear my clocks were all going backwards! Rolling Eyes Kind of like Christmas eve when you were a little kid!
Don't forget the camera!!

You are so funny - clocks going backward. To me they are going too fast because I have so much to do. I have three kids, and they do make a mess. I've got stuffed animals to relocate, baby gates to secure, shoes and socks that need new homes.

Buffy is about 5 months old, born at the beginning of October, but I didn't get a date. I'm guessing she's about 20 pounds. The mom was a 60 pound black lab and the dad was a 40 pound white poodle. I'm guessing about 45-50 pounds full grown?

Heading out tonight with the husband to celebrate a friends birthday. I'm sure all that we'll talk about will be BUFFY!!!!! (She is being named after Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I'm afraid).
Then I'm out of here early tomorrow! I'll load up a bunch of pictures tomorrow night!
