when otto wants attention he brings a toy and keeps pushing it into your lap or sometimes he likes to jump on your head _________________ angie |

One of our doodles tries to help clean the windows, esp if there are a lot of "snoogers" on it (doodle snoot boogers.) He'll see a snooger on the window (which or his sister made) & he'll start licking it off & licking it off & before you know it the whole window is all nice & "clean" with his saliva all over the glass. I was beginning to think I was getting cataracts because everything outside was looking so blurry & filmy! _________________ Kiszka |

When Boyd wants to play he'll grab his toy and come up to us from behind and boink us on the butt. If we don't respond, he'll stick his head between our legs and look up at us with those imploring eyes.
He also loves to line his toys up in his crate and then carefully select which one he wants to play with. It's a hoot to watch, I seriously think he talks to himself when he does it!! |

The other day my fiance (who doesnt always take a hint) called me in the living room to show me how cute Max was that he brought 5 toys and lined them up in a row.
hahhaha max got even later on by incessantly barking to get his attention and ran up one side of the couch and down the other like flash lightening. I think my fiance got that hint. _________________ Annmarie, Max,& Peanut

Lizzie Doodle has a toybox with a lid that she can open & pick out toys from. It's really cute to see her go to the toybox, open the lid & stick her entire head in the box to search for the perfect toy. This happens EVERY time I pick up her toys, which is 2 or 3 times a day.
Lizzie loves to jump onto the kitchen counter, bring sticks in to the house to chew, stand on all 4 feet in the outside water bucket (and has taught the other dogs how truly fun this is), and pretends she cant jump on the bed. But, really, I think the funniest thing is the "tennis ball" game with our 6 yr old, 100 lb doberwoman (Dogge). A long time ago, Dogge established that ALL the tennis balls in the world belonged to her. Lizzie is not allowed to play with tennis balls. When Dogge is laying in her giant comfy dog bed, Lizzie's retaliation is to sneak a tennis ball, walk over to Dogge with the ball in her mouth, then toss it for Dogge to retrieve. Its hilarious because Dogge & Lizzie both know that if Dogge protects her tennis ball rights she must give up her bed! It's hilarious - 10 times out of 10 Lizzie gets possession of the giant dog bed & Dogge is left, literally, holding the ball. Too funny

Gus is 15 months old and still does the "I can't jump on the bed, in the car or on the couch" game, but, only for me. Of course when he is zooming around the house like a wild animal he has NO PROBLEM jumping on anything or getting that cheeseburger off of the counter. _________________ http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g36/dshell74/Gus/Summer06GardenPics014.jpg |

I cant belive I didnt read this thread earlier! Murphy totaly got me! THREE times tonight he acted like he couldnt jump up on the bed! THREE TIMES! and I fell for it! I actually got down and lifted his back legs up for him! I was even thinking, hes soo tall, maybe he has just never jumped up on a bed before, ours is kinda tall. I cant belive I fell for that! ugh...
The only other quirk he has as of yet is when the outside light is off at night he stands in front of the sliding glass door and chuffs , growls, and sometimes barks at his own reflextion. We have actually had to turn on the light and close the blinds to get him to calm down from the dangerous doodle on the other side. |

anyone else have this happen?
we all know how doodles can be "playfully lazy" like wanting to be picked up to be on a bed
Max's new game is when I tire of playing fetch he comes over and rests his paws, head and toy on my lap while my legs are out stretched out on another chair. He then drops his toy...waits with "what am I gonna do now?" look and then in slow motion slides like a sloth over my legs to the ground. hahhaah now his back legs are on my lap and he looks back at me with " can ya give em a tiny push for me?"
these dogs are so comical
btw he will do this about 6 times before taking a break. _________________ Annmarie, Max,& Peanut

Yep, only it is my 70 lb Poodle that does it. He will jump his front legs onto anything...into a car, onto a bed, anything...but his back legs...need a lift. It is really funny! _________________ jacque.bayley.lexie.chase.rosie.nitos.amelia.dupree.madison.sherwood.gerry www.backporchlabradoodles-jacque.blogspot.com www.backporchlabradoodles.com |

same thing here with the car. guess it's the butt that weighs the most!
I also like to call him my "half-lap" dog, he just likes to be half in my lap all the time. _________________ gene , jonah , miko and rumor

food for thought: here i am reading all the funny posts of our beloved doodles and thinking:
THESE are the same dogs that can COMPLETE service training for the disabled in 6mos !!!
....yet we can't get them to stop stealing socks, paper, bring their hing legs up on beds, cars without assistance, race around and bark at mirrors etc.
hhahahhaa oh, just was sharing and out loud thought is all. _________________ Annmarie, Max,& Peanut

Oh, AnnMarie! You said it! I happen to be the breeder of 5 wonderful service dogs...but when I mention that, casually, at the vet office...almost always someone says, "You donate THESE DOGS as guide dogs????!!!" (How rude!) Just because I can't get them from one place to another (at the vet office) without nearly hanging them with their leashes? Sheesh...picky, picky, picky! _________________ jacque.bayley.lexie.chase.rosie.nitos.amelia.dupree.madison.sherwood.gerry www.backporchlabradoodles-jacque.blogspot.com www.backporchlabradoodles.com |

I own 2 doodle girls who are 1 1/2 yrd now.. IRS (pronounced Iris- she was born April 15) is 68 pounds with the poodle "do" so she looks like she weighs 90. I swear she thinks and we can see it. She manipulates Belle out of toys. First thing in the morning my husband gets up and plays ball for half hour. If IRS is not tired she plays by herself, throwing and fetching. She has also used this to get into things she is not supposed to touch. When she tries to get the soap out of the tub and is told no, she gets a ball from her toy box, throws it and fetches, and it always makes its way down the hall and into the bathroom and into the tub which, of course, she has to retrieve it from the tub and well, look there- the soap! Bell has a quirk, she is built like a poodle and pretty dainty but if she gets on the bed she does not lay down, she falls over, straight legged. It is the strangest thing. She can lay down like a normal dog but not when she is on the bed. WE got IRS when she was 8 weeks old and I have 4 granddaughters under 6. They have been dressing her up in their tiaras so she is used to wearing them in the house but she will also sit in the front passenger seat and wear them as long as we are out. Bell jumps out as soon as we open the door but IRS sits until we go around and open her door. She will not move or look at the back door. She is the queen _________________ 2DoodlesGal |
