Over Labor Day we went to our lake house and one morning Dakota jumped into bed to wake me up and play. He thrust his 60 something pound "paw" into my eye. I had a black eye for 5 days.
Evil or Very Mad
Last week, he out-did his, now almost 70 pound, self. I was walking him outback--there are several undevelped acres that are usually very quiet. I didn't have his gentle leader; just a regualr collar. I wasn't paying proper attention or I would have known better. There is a house being built a few houses down from us. When Dakota saw the construction crew, he was SURE they had come just to see him! Very Happy Well, he BOLTED to visit them and in the aftermath, I was flat on my face!! Because we know Dakota has this tendency, my husband and I have taught ourselves to double wrap the leash around our wrist. Hence, every time I tried to get up, Dakota pulled me down again! Evil or Very Mad Two good looking (at this point who cares) construction guys came over and hoisted me up. I was bleeding on my face--not badly--and the owner/builder hollered for somebody to get me some kind of a blotter for the blood. I just remember saying "I'm OK." Next thing I know, he's showing me his building plans for his house. I recall thinking it looked nice, but I couldn't begin to describe it! Shocked I thought I was OK, but I woke up at 3am and the pain started at my elbow, up to my shoulder, down to my waist and into my leg. The pain in my waist, my husband says it's the loin, is still there, but fortunately not causing me any more sleepless nights. Dakota was on my s_ _ _ list for about two hours, but you look at that smiling face and those sweet eyes and you can't possibly stay mad!! Rolling Eyes

oh you poor thing. if you dont get to feeling better soon you should get checked. my husband spiral broke his finger walking the dogs on our summer trip when we were in Michigan. He went out into the hallway and the housekekeper saw them and freaked out and the lunged forward. He didnt have the leash correctly on his hand it was around a finger so when 160 pound of dog jumped it twisted and broke Sad Be careful where you put the leash and rest up to get better Smile

My sister in law got dragged down the street and all scraped up in about the same manner. She said the more she pictured the spectacle the funnier it became and the more she felt like a cartoon.

Oh no!!
Oh, my gosh! I can just imagine the humiliation! I do worry about your pain though...I hope that you will get checked out by your doctor if the pain continues.
But, wow! What a nice rescue!! (Even me, who is not a kid any more, would enjoy a rescue like that one! Very Happy )

Why is that all doodles think everyone has to visit them Laughing

I was out walking Digby a couple of months ago and he did the same, took off after a squirrel and flat on face, the concrete broke the fall - I still have the mark on my knee.

Last year we had a bad ice storm, so have to take Digby out to do his business, he took off - on the ice I fell my butt cushioned the fall Mad my husband laughed so hard! Even my son was laughing.

Hope you are feeling better!
