Vicky and Jacque
All right--this is getting down right exciting! Laughing I took some pictures of my yard today and I intend to send them to Marge to see if she thinks it will work or if she has a better suggestion for a location. --This time of year, yards--at least ours--are not at their best. If it's ok with you two, I'd like to try for Wed or Thurs of that week--weather pending. (I'm out of town the week before and a little housework and yardwork will be in order!! Wink I'll be in touch!

I am sorry, Maureen, that you won't be there! I'd love to see you and to have you bring your dogs! But...wowie!! You will be a new mama!!! I am so excited for you!

Hey, Diane, I think that I would like to invite our other pups in the area...is that okay? Maybe we can get Chloe, Zoe, Harpo and Buddy to come!

The only thing I ask is enough notice that we can easily get the dogs ready and make the drive...it is about 4 hours on the road for us!

The problem with a dog in heat is that all intact males would be wanting to get her! (And they can come from all over the place!!) So, I'd be watching for all of the homeless dogs to come out of the forest to get my Lexie-girl! It's as bad as being the mother of a teenage daughter!

Wow Jacque--the more the merrier! I think we should just go for our own calendar--we can have a group shot on front and each pup can have his/her own month!! Laughing I'll check with Marge--I don't see why she would mind. When I talked to her today she was excited about 5 dogs! My yard is beginning to feel smaller . . . Wink As to the day, it is largely dependent on weather. I will be gone until the 15th and will not have online access. Watch the weather; I would like it to be the 18th or 19th so I have time to spruce up the house and yard (if we indeed do it here--I'm leaving the choice up to Marge). Sooo, if the weather looks good, pick a date and let me know. If you would like to contact me, I will be at 530-825-3313. Even if none of our babies make it to a calendar, this is going to be a blast!! Laughing Laughing

Attention: Jac, Vicky and anybody else that is interested. I spoke to Marge and, weather pending, she would like Friday Oct 20th. She would like to do several settings: my house, possibly a neighbor's house (I do need to ask!!) and a local, relatively quiet, dog park! Is this sounding OK?? We are getting serious here! My contact number next week is (530) 825-3313.

Great! Thanks, Diane, for all of your hard work putting this together!

Friday the 20th is good for me. I'll contact the other puppy owners...I hope that they can make it. One of the owners (Zoe's mom) said that it might work out for them!

Vicky, why won't you bring Jett???

I am going to TRY my best to bring Lexie, Bayley and Nitos... it will be very hard for me to handle them all (especially for such a long trip)...but that is the plan right now anyway. (If Lexie's heat cycle cooperates!)

Jac, I will have my boys with me so they can help out with your doods. I am not bringing Jett because she wasn't very comfortable at the romp and I think all the excitement might have the same effect on her. I think she photographs well, so it will be sad in that regard.

Diane, I echo Jac's on thanking you for the hard work you have done on putting this together. I can't wait!

Oh, yes...it was tough on her. You are wise not putting her through that again...but it is a shame...she is such a pretty girl! Maybe the photographer will set up a "single" photo shoot with Jett and Copper since she is near where you live. I hope so.
Thanks for offering your boys' help! I just may have to enlist them! Cool It would be nice for you all to meet Coppers mother!

We'll be sorry not to have Jett. She "discussed things" a couple of times with Dakota at the romp, but they seemed to quickly work things out! He'll be sorry not to see her this time--he enjoyed hanging out with her!! Marge will likely work something in for Jett!

LOL Diane, Jett enjoyed Dakota too! It was all the other stimulation that freaked her out. Shocked Unfortunately, she hasn't been the same since. She had a vet appointment last week and she wouldn't even leave the parking lot to go in. I brought Copper with us and she wouldn't follow him in either. I eventually had to go in and get the staff to help me get her in the door. She was fine once inside. And yesterday, I took them both to Petsmart to shop for treats. She got out of the car just fine but would only go about 10 feet in the parking lot and froze. So I returned her to the car and went in with Copper. She does fine on our walks, greeting people and dogs, but she sure doesn't want to leave the car to go places. I am not sure what happened. Sad

Oh, Vicky, that is so sad about Jett!
I know that when they get so traumatized, it can affect the way they act for a very, very long time.
My dog walker comes over and plays ball with my dogs (when the weather or other circumstances make walking impossible) and she has a stron arm!
One day, she was throwing the ball and she accidentally hit Lexie...she felt horrible and Lexie decided that she doesn't like the dog walker!
When the walker comes over, Lexie goes directly under my desk and won't come out...not for a treat, not for a walk, nothing. She doesn't like her!
I hope that Jett gets more comfortable as time goes on. Poor girl. Crying or Very sad
